Niche Social Network

I am thinking of selling my niche social network. I wanted to see what people would be willing to pay for it. It has about 1,700 members (all of them are legit, not bots or anything like this). What do you think it's worth? Would $10k be too much/too little?

You should of probably posted this thread somewhere else. With that said, you have to take a few things into consideration such as what sort of traffic it's getting, revenue, page rank, what you value your members at and the list goes on. Without seeing any of those characteristics I can't really comment, though I probably wouldn't put a $10,000 pricetag on it.

The social network site Potspace just sold for 35k which had over 165k members and making thousands in revenue. With only 1700 members I think it would be hard to get 10k for it.

Also depends on the interest/hobby/affiliation the community is based around. Think 1700 investment bankers vs 1700 WoW players.

10K shouldn't be too much for an active community that is open to buying what you are promoting them.

But it is sadly a buyers' market...
