I want to get a new Google API and I did everything they suggest which resulted in me downloading the API developer's kit. But I've search in all the parts of the kit and can't find the actual API number or code?

    Can anybody help?

I seem to remember them emailing it over to me...

I take it you had to register again and all that...

I got lost in the same process a few times as well. After confirming your e-mail address by clicking the link in the confirmation e-mail you will get another e-mail with the KEY.

Nothing to do with the Dev KIT.

They will send one of those "Click to confirm your account" emails. It can sometimes take a full day to get to you.

Then once you confirm, they will email the API. This email can also take quite a while.

Note that you HAVE to click the Sign In link at the bottom of that screen. If you click the Sign In link at the top right (which is the only one visible on my screen), it takes you somewhere else that does NOT give you your key. This just wasted 15 minutes of my life. Silly me to think that Sign In links on the same page would do the same thing.

For future reference, Log in with this link:

    https://www.google.com/accounts/Log...ekey&followup=http://api.google.com/createkey

which will then take you to your key after you sign in.
