Is it ok to post the same article to many sites?

Ok, so I feel I have more or less exhausted my resources in submitting my website to backlink directories (having submitted 573 times to various directories, but am always interested in more directory lists) and am now contemplating article submission.

I currently submit to ezinearticles but don't always get great results from them. I have seen the long lists of other article submission websites but was curious to know if it was imperative to post different articles to each of these or if it was ok to post the same article to say 5-10 article submission websites.

Its OK to post the same article to loads of article sites. Most are crap and not worth bothering with though.

If you aren't getting results with EZine articles you may want to have someone look at your articles before submitting to more. There are less then 5 article directories that account for 90%+ of the distribution so don't waste your time submitting to a huge list.

Personally I use the combination of www.ezinearticles.com and www.isnare.com (using their distribution which includes goarticles, etc) and I would guess I get over 95% of the available exposure.

Work smart and it can pay off...Of course you need quality product from the start or you are wasting your time.

Well I get results, but not the results I want, perhaps that is a better way of putting it. Thanks for the advice!

I dont think 573 submittals to directories is a lot (I know it is a lot of time) taking into consideration the number of directories that are around

I would increase my coverage in directories, it will pay off sooner rather than later

So you have an suggestions of directories to try? Oftentimes I find that when I go to submit to a directory I have never heard of it tells me I'm already in the queue

I get results from PR0 directories to PR7 directories. Point is not the PR of the directory, you never know which directory will bring you traffic. It is quite obvious higher PR directories will bring you more traffic becaue they are highly popular.

I am in experimentation mode right now. I have submitted to some 70 article directories and I see results from all variations of popular (PR7) or non-popular (PR0) directories.

Speaking of 500+ submissions - I am not sure of that. Try it and let us know what results you get.

I assume most people submit one and the same article to a plenty of sites and it is ok. It makes the existance of numerous automated article submission tools posible.

I feel this answer sums it up very nicely.

There are 2 articles you write.

    Those for your website.
    Those re-worded for article distribution.

Keep the articles for distribution different from those of your website. Does not matter if the distributed article is the same.

573 submissions? Did you do this all manually? Do you recommend any good article submitter programs? As the man from Ireland says, 95% of the traffic comes from 5 or so directories. I wonder which 5 he's referring to. Dmoz one of them?

He was referring to article directories, such as ezinearticles and isnare, that distribute your article to a ton of other places.

In terms of the 573 submissions to SEO link yeah I did it manually. Doesn't take as long as people think it would, not when you know where the directories are to submit to anyways.

Agree with ajenterp, just the modified article (for submission) must not cause your competitors will outrank you :)
