great news...much of my site is in flash (being redone somewhat) so the ability to not have to choose between SEO and user experience is a great step forward for the internet in general.
Hello... Glad to hear it... it took long enough to do being flash been out for a while now thx malcolm
Yes, I am going to launch a new flash website really soon. So that, I hope this innovation will become helpful for me to read.
It is a good thing, but does it work well? Flash information is programmed in layers with ActionScript. HTML is organized in layouts. I am really curious to see what I will find. One of my concerns is about my Flash games. Will Google index my Flash game content? And how? The Flash games are encrypted, which is transparent for a machine, but not a human coder.
Flash is a good way to make a goog product presentation at a website. It is pleasure to see that Google has already provided a solution! Good news!
Now that's very trendy and good innovation for Google. Maybe they already made this one and just launched it, as another response to Bing.
Can't help but think this is going to be a little basic in the near future as it is incredibly complex to 'understand' the content of Flash files but certainly a step in the right direction.
Great news, now web designers are going to be thrown back a whole decade and make crappy websites dominated by Flash. Even if they make cool websites dominated by Flash, you still have to consider the people that don't have DSL/Cable/or just high speed Internet service yet. There are still plenty of those people around. Sites that have little Flash plug-ins are great, flash banners, flash menus, why not? Just not whole sites dedicated to Flash. I think Google's inability to parse a Flash site helped to shape the Internet, and helped set a standard for designers...so much for raising the bar.
That's not actually news I believe, since google has been pretty comfortable with flash for quite a while now. You might want to check the following link out: http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=72746
That's good to know.. almost a year ago they have started to index some of flash based site content, buy let's just hope they are really going to improve it this time As of the time been it still can't index images within any flash site !!!
yeah its another good news from google.. It better to run new Flash Website soon. I know there are many flash sites owners there who are very glad about that news.
Well, the big news is that it can now index dynamically loaded content, which it couldn't before. Considering most flash sites are now xml driven, it is indeed news, and very good news, considering you can even load HTML formated text in Flash
