One of the easiest ways to generate traffic to your website is
often one of the most overlooked methods as well, Yahoo
    Answers
. Not only is it a simplified method of driving
targeted traffic to your site, it is also absolutely free to use.

Indeed, it is nofollow. But what most people forget that link building is for the search engines AND for real people. So you can get targeted traffic from Yahoo Answers direct, but more important these Q&A's get well indexed by Yahoo and Google so you expect more visitors from these sources.

I can assure you that Yahoo Answers is not an "overlooked method". Not at all!
In fact so many people spam there that it's impossible to find genuine answers anymore :D

Interesting? you are posting in the links development forum, so you mean to say that yahoo answer will develop our links. I must clear this part that yes it dose send traffic, referral traffic, but it dosenot develop your link. search engines ignore nofollow links, thus it won't develop your link :)

Well, when they added the NOFOLLOW tag it certainly helped...but yes, still too much spam (and children posting) for REAL help. Though, I must admit I have used Yahoo Answers to find answers, and have clicked through given links.

Well.. Sometimes Yahoo! Answers do help specially when google does not give me good results. I visit yahoo! Answers for answers.

But Yahoo! Answers do help in link building for Yahoo! but not for Big G and Bin G.

As Yahoo's Bartz said: "Google and Yahoo!" is a different company.. why? Ask others or yourself what are the major sources of income from both sites in 2008. You will find the answer.

I post one or two answers a day in Yahoo Answers and get decent but not great referrals. It's worth doing if you give a quality answer and not just something light.

People will vote on your answer. If you get a "Best Answer," you get more traffic. If people think you are spamming, you get negative votes.

Also, the amount of spam depends on the category.

I agree with this! Though Yahoo has cracked down, sometimes removing quality answers in attempt to reduce spam. Keep your comments helpful or you will be banned.

I also use yahoo answers to get my links to be seen by other users.

I get a lot of clicks through yahoo answer service. And the best thing its totally FREE.

Try not to spam on Yahoo answers.

Just search for your niche and then try to answer and put in your link.
    That's it.

And yes yahoo answers is no-follow but for People you need the clicks right.

For do-follow you can go to bookmarksites.

I get alot of traffic from these sites too.

    good luck

That's right, you should try to give quality answers. Personally I clicked several times "Report as spam" when the answer was clearly a scam.

But concerning the quality of Yahoo answers, I noticed that the more specialized a topic is, the better the answers. Got some good answers out of it myself.

Even if it's nofollow, it brings targetted traffic that really gets converted. So it is of real importance to all.

Yahoo answers is really good for getting good quality traffic and people do exploit the same to some extent. Being a no-follow attribute, people do find it tough to get motivated to make use of it more, but then, I do make use of it since the traffic is more important! :)
