What did Shoemoney do to get so rich?

There's quite a bit of talk about Shoemoney in these forums and I wonder if anyone knows how he makes so much freaking money? I know some if it is with Google adsense... but...what exactly is he doing to get so much traffic?

Forums? Blogs?

Anyone know what his secret is?

He has been in the ringtone niche, and I believe he claimed to have around 800 domains. I'm not sure how many he has now, nor how well developed each one is.

 

Aha...that is correct...I believe I read that too. That's insane there's that much money in ringtones. I wonder if he sells ringtones or gives them away for free and uses an advertising model?

I do recall hearing John C. Dvorak say that the ringtone industry is something like a 6 billion dollar/year industry.

He did it by not wondering: "How did XXXXX get so rich?" and doing his own thing.

 

Ringtones are a good way to make money. Unfortunatly companies like Dada Mobile are a bunch of scammers that pretend the ringtones are free and then charge you a subscription fee. My wife had a heck of a time getting them to go away. For several months she had to call up her cell phone company to get them to reverse the charge. T-Mobile blacklisted them and they changed their name. All she did was open an SMS message from them and that's all they needed to bill her cell phone.

I started up freeringtoneheaven.com to counter the slimey companies and that's why I don't bother being an affiliate to paid ringtone companies. I don't like how they do business.

I'm not getting rich off my site but it's doing well enough.

The secret is a one great idea or hundreds of plain... Quantity could be the right choice when the one is not too smart ;-)

 

What Lorien and Jarod boy said is perfecty true....
Nothing can replace hard work, a bit of self creativity, a never say die spirit, and a will to believe in yourself even if others think you are mad....( as long as you are convinced about your idea)

And manateemedia, asking people to donate $1 won't make you shoemoney

yes he does seem to have some nice $$$$

obviously he just invests in domains and makes up quality domains to gain adsense money

 

Not 100% accurate, but last I checked:

He has several forums that bring in the Adsense/YPN checks.
He has several blogs that bring in ebay checks.
He has several landing pages, that he spends thousands in PPC on, that bring in the Azoogle checks.

Listen to his radio show, you'll start to get the gist of things.

Also, he likes it if you send in wood carved idols, especially Gods of Money, that he can worship.
