    I think there is a related post feature that is built into VBulletin, it shows related post at the bottom of the threads. I think its turned off by default because it adds an extra query on every page load.

    btw...this is also a feature that is available in Mybb and can also be enabled in the admincp.

    phpbb does not have this ...maybe someone else can say if SMF does.
