As usual Google is still way out in the lead, but I have noticed Bing passing me quite a lot of traffic for one of my sites. Its overtaken Yahoo as second biggest search referrer. Lets hope this is not just novelty and they can become a strong contender in search.
I got 512 visitors in 2 days to my blog !!!! I just don't even know if it's the real visitors or bot lol !!!
Congratz on the traffic surge, but chances are your pages are extremely well SEO'ed for Onpage SEO but I have yet to receive any traffic and some of my pages are optimized to the T
Well, Bing should automatically index your pages just like other search engines do as long as your site is established. If its completely brand new, you may need some links to the site and it should index it soon enough.
Same here. I could not use Yahoo at all, it's terrible. I am on my 2nd day without Google and I don't miss it....which is, to me, a very good sign. I feel like when I quit smoking.....on my 2nd day without Google!
According to the useless alexa, bing is one of the hottest sites at the moment and they did that with a "quiet" launch Anti-marketing perhaps
It seems like it delivers relevant results - I have checked out a few search phrases and I think the quality of the listings is as good as Google or possibly even better. Haven't had much of a chance yet to see if they are bringing me new traffic, but I am definitely glad to know there's an alternative source of organic traffic that isn't Google.
I haven't even bothered with Bing yet. Being that I got no traffic from MSN/Live I don't know if I can care enough about the tiny marketshare they have.
The Bing results are the exact same as msn/live.com...aren't they? That's what I'm getting. So how would they send more traffic than live?
Their are not just another Live search they have also used the technology they have gotten from Powerset
Let's see, on May 3rd my ratio of MSN to Yahoo was 19%. On June 3rd the ratio of Bing to Yahoo was 49%. So it looks like the hype around Bing increased the traffic by a little over twice. On the other hand Bing was sandwiched in between google india and google australia, or about 1.7% of the google total. So far not more than Yahoo, but Yahoo isn't that important to me either. wiz
CNN has been talking about BING, giving them publicity. That is why you'll see the surge in your stats. Give it a few weeks and it will drop fast, just like when they launched live. I think their serps return nothing but keyword spammy sites, just like live did.
Same as. So far I would say its bringing about 2% of my traffic now. Its still showing up as a referral site in Analytics though
My rankings are worse on Bing than they were on Live Search, but the traffic from Bing is noticeably higher. Apparently a lot of people are checking it out since it's new and has gotten a lot of publicity.
According to an article in CNET, yesterday, the higher traffic supposedly generated by Bing is not reality because the stats quoted are for a certain length of time and haven't had a chance to settle in. The reality is Bing's traffic is about the same as Live's was, as was Yahoo.
