    Hi,

I need hosting with the following requirements:

    - PHP5
    - Can install multiple domains
    - Lots of databases
    - Good enough to run a forums with moderate traffic
    - Not expensive (cheaper than $40)
    - Control panel such as cpanel/whm or plesk

I have been using mediatemple but the VPS I am subscribed to crashed repeatedly and is still giving me some errors which I can't really get to fix.

Another site of mine says I am having too many mysql connections but in order to change the mysql settings, I have to pay more.

I am busy and I don't really have time for fixing these errors.

    Anyone?

I need reliable hosting with good support.

    1. $40 per month? or per year?
    2. how many mysql connections are you getting?
    3. how much bandwidth are you using?
    4. what's the max number of apache connections you have gotten at the same time?

answers to those would help others offer help/services to you.

if your numbers are high you may need a dedicated server - a VPS generally isn't stronger than a shared server because everything is broken down far more in a VPS than a full shared server. if the errors you get are due to too much traffic then you have to learn to either control that or get a machine that can handle it.

Please check out our reliable and affordable dedicated servers at http://hostfever.com/dedicated.html (They run a little more than $40 a month, but they are great servers)

    Per month.

I dont know how many connections, how do I tell?
One of the sites I am running has too many connections error on mysql.
The forum has no such problem, but it gets database error sometimes, I am thinking it has got to do with the script too.

Bandwidth is less than 300gb per mth.

300gb per month is VPS level. the reason you are getting the DB error is probably because the settings in the servers my.cnf file isn't as high as your forum would like - I have a forum myself and I had plenty of DB errors before I moved it to its own server and set the settings to what I needed.

but $40/month is a pretty good budget - check wht forum for good and reliable vps offers, I'm sure you'll find something. go for something with around 1gb ram and whatever space/bw you need

    good luck

what kind of traffic you get in terms of avg users online at same time?

you mentioned 300gb per month any decent VPS would be able to handle that bandwidth.

As, others suggested Try optimizing. if you don't have time to do it yourself. hire someone who has appropriate skills to complete the job.

i can get you 5 tb bandwidth on 100 gb space with 100Mbps connection which you can burst too easily (I have done it) You will never get throttled and you have 2 GB ram burtable to 3 GB. price is 20 euros and php and apache are installed. usually 24 hour turnaround on orders or less and very good support.

    Hi,
Try getting a dedicated server if Grid hosting is crashing. I think MediaTemple is the best for 400-500 GB Traffic. Another good choice would be DataGram. Don't go for any over sellers or new web hosting companies on DP as you will get the same results as you are getting from a 11 year old MediaTemple. I personally recommend a 2 GB RAM Dedicated server for that kind of traffic and to run your website smoothly without any crashes.

    Regards,
    Monty
