    you simply type the domain name in google and if it doesnt come up then it is a droppe domain.

    Wow, that HORRIBLE advice. usually, I stay out of these things, but I've got to correct this.

    Dropped means that the domain has previously EXPIRED. you check to see if a domain has expired by using WHOIS.

    It matters because often once a domain has expired, google will reset the PR value of the domain to 0.

    However, domains with PR don't usually make as far as to be dropped anymore. Usually they are auctioned off and sold before they actually expire.

    All of that being said, the important thing is how many google backlinks a domain has. if it doens't have any GOOGLE bakclinks, then there's a good chance the domain will drop in PR within the next couple of PR updates.
