the pitfalls of CPAlead.com

I am not trying to bash anyone. I've made a few bucks since I have implemented CPA lead, but not much. II am running a video site, so, in theory CPA lead should be a good match.

I wish CPA lead would improve the quality of their advertisers. I've had many complaints from my website users since I implemented it.

I expected some complaints but how about "I completed the survey and the site was still locked."??

My site traffic has sharply declined, see the image below.

Any suggestions? Is there anyway to get rid of the cheesy surveys? Any suggestion appreciated..

I was and am still running Netflix, Blockbuster and some CJ banners...

I hate banner ads I made $0 from the above three.... :(

On the good side, my webhost is happy since I am using less resources :(

Happy webhost = poor traffic lol

Your title should have read like this.

"the pitfalls of adding a popup to my website"

Any website will have decreased traffic when a popup is added.

I partially agree, however, I do believe that CPA lead can improve on their process.

When i started cpalead, it's not affected my traffic. See screenshot.
I recommend to hide cpa lead from search engines with javascript encryption.

Can you elaborate on this? The gateway effects organic searches? How?

    Anyone?

Did you put the CPALead.com Gateway on your home page? If so, this would explain the loss of traffic.

Your traffic needs to see some of your content in order to realize your content is worth completing a survey for. If you cannot sell your traffic that your site is worth completing a survey for, which is impossible to do if you put it on your home page, then you will have a large decrease in traffic.

I would recommend only putting the Gateway on 1/2 of your content or having the Gateway popup after a minute of viewing the content.

I do not have the gateway on my homepage. There is a 90 second wait before the gateway appears.

So, thanks for trying, but I've implemented those items from day one.

What's this I hear about the Gateway affecting organic traffic?

don't gateway the site off the bat. allow someone to view.

for example: on page you offer video shows, so, show gateway only when user click "view video" link (on new page)

Sounds like your traffic is just naturally declining. We do not affect SEO.

Putting a gateway at the start of your site will definitely kill off your traffic. People come and see the site requires 15 minutes to fill up some survey and they leave - most never to return.

It happened to me too. I hope cpalead can have easier 1 page offers that require only 1 minute to complete with lower payouts instead of the current 15 minute ones with higher payouts.

If you are running a movie/tv show site and you have a 90 second wait time on the actual video pages then you will obviously loose traffic since most of your traffic can then go the the source of the embedded video and watch the videos there. Also, if you are embedding divx videos and your traffic have time to press play before the gateway appears the player will stay on top of the gateway.
