Some secrets to help make more sales.

There are 2 men in Clickbank, one is vendor and another one is affiliate. In most cases, the vendor and the affiliate have become business partners; they should not be the competitors. The vendor with the best selling isn’t the one who has big name. Would you know WHY? I would give you the explanations later.

    1.) About website
Your website is like your face, so pls make it professional.
Only when your software comes from the download site, otherwise the users know your website first and then know your software. Before you release your website, think about how to design. If you are a potential customer, could you purchase the software when you log onto the site?

    2.) Price your product
Lower price and easier selling is out today. It is much more attractive when you have a lower price in theory. Let’s say lower price, many sales, but it will reduce your profits. Another thing is that lower price will affect the following marketing. For example, one product priced $34.98 and another one is $17.98. As I said before that it is much more attractive when you have a lower price in theory. But the case is not like this. In fact, the vendors who price $34.98 will give at least 50% commission to their affiliates. Thus when you search some products in Google, you will find that most pages recommend the product prices $354.98. Actually these pages are made by the affiliates. Thus more and more people know the product and sales increase and thus earnings increase.

    3.) About affiliate
Is it necessary to share your benefits with others? The answer is YES and it is very important for you to do this.

    The WHY is very simple.
All affiliates are your salesmen. For example if you have a product and you can make 100 sales a month and profit is 90%. Now you have 100 salesmen and you give 50% of profit to them. If they make 1000 sales, though the profit is less, the earning is 4 times than before. Why not?

Your affiliates will help improve your name and bring a lot of traffic and thus make more sales. And also they will bring extra sales. If some one read some introductions on the affiliate’s page and then search in Google and come to your site and purchase. Here I would like to say the importance of the website. Do make it professional, otherwise all your effort can’t be paid.

The rest will be posted soon...

    4.) About commission
I have made a short introduction about affiliate. Here I would like to talk something about how to set commissions according to different affiliates.

We all know that CB give affiliates 75% commission. But some vendors give 85% commission even all to their affiliates. They can’t get the profits from this commission plan. But something else they will get. :)

I don’t recommend this self-killer promotion. Most affiliates get 75%, you can give some top affiliates more commission.

5.) Keep contact with your affiliates
Most of us use emails to contact customers. Besides emails, some (like us) use online chat and community forums to contact customers.

When you contact 100 potential customers, maybe you can make 2 or 3 sales. But if you contact your affiliates (let’s say 10) after you updated your software, they may make 100 sales. Those top affiliates have different ways to promote your software and know more about how to improve conversion rate. So affiliates will help you develop new market, improve name and compete with other big-name products.

    6.) Website again
In last post I have said the importance of website; here I will say more details.

FAQ page: list all commonly known problems to save your time used for answers’ questions.
Support page: list all ways they can contact you. Email, Online Chat and Community Forums etc.
Privacy Policy page: Make it professional and let users trust you.
About us page: display all information about your company.
Products page: benefits and features of your product
Download page: as many download links as possible

    The rest will come…

    7.) How top affiliate promote

If you think they just make some banners and text, then you are wrong. Especially for those top affiliates, you need to know them again. The affiliates will invest a lot to some high ROI products and you don’t know how they do that. Besides product review, they would focus on different functions of the products and then promote.

It is easy to say than done. But don’t be afraid, keep on and succeed.

    8) What affiliate bring to you

In most cases, affiliates help make thing better. They have good sense in market, they promote different products, they know which is profitable, they know which has potential market and they know this at the first time. Though top affiliates haven’t started promoting your products, many of them have placed your products on their sites. Then you have more links and your products are known by more people. Until some day some affiliates start to make dedicated websites for your products and more and more affiliates start publishing your products.

If your software is a newbie, you can give your affiliates higher commission and your sales will increase dramatically. Most top affiliates have millions of review sites used for other products and these sites can bring also tons of traffic. If your product has good quality, then top affiliates would like to place yours on the top and recommend it to users.

    The rest will come…

9.) How to choose a product
Once you decide to promote some software, do read the following.
    1. Choose quality software. If it is poor quality, you cant sell it and if you sold it, the users would also ask for a refund. Thus you can get profits.
    2. Choose higher price. As I have said in other posts. You site is not like the other download sites. You cant get free traffic, you need money to bring traffic. If what you earned is less than your advertisement cost, you waste your money.
    3. Make your site professional. Please see the last post.
    4. You also need to think more when you want to start. 

That is all I know. If you have any new idea, please post here.

This is some good info, but it's probably going to be really overwhelming to any beginner reading it. Think you could compact it into 15 lines or so? Give it a try. It could help more people.

But the selling will affect what you are selling. One thing has 2 sides effects.

I just want to give more details about these. You can make a conclusion.:)

Another a little tip, Don't be afraid to promote high commension products. Along with the other ones find one with decent gravity. (above 30 for me) the great thing about this is that instead of $20 commension for your hard work you can get $80 and above. Simple. 1 sale a day 80x7 days week= $560x 4 weeks in a month= $2240. Much easier to get to your goals.

In some cases a cheaper product, is as you had mentioned, more attractive, but a higher priced product can be just as attractive. The psychology behind it could be that a potential customer is thinking that if something is a little pricier, then it must be really good. This then only leaves the vendor to have to make sure that their product would satisfy themselves, as well as the buyer.

If not, well, then there could be a lot of sleepless nights for the vendor :D

Yah, for this, I think we need to talk something about conversion first or overall profits first. It is something related to price.

Most vendors always say how high their conversion rate is to attract and recruit as many affiliates as possible. Some may claim that their conversion rate over 20%. It maybe possible like what they said and I have posted one titled “Some tips to improve conversion rate up to 10%.” Click URL: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1322831.

On this post, I would like to talk about something related to single conversion rate and overall profits.

You and we all know that most affiliates will choose the products with the price over $20; one of the reasons why they do this is to ensure their benefits. Now most of them choose those with a sale price over $30.
Here I would show you an example and you will know which one is you should focus on.
Let’s say a product priced $34.67 (all value added services included), then the affiliates will get about $26 per sale, even less. Now he can make 40 sales per day, thus his overall earning is about $1040. Now let’s turn to another product price $59.87 (not all value added services included, single package we say it is $34). Just like the previous product, we find that affiliates can also get $26 per sale. But if the potential customers think that the value added services of the second product is worthy of that money, then they will choose. Now you can calculate that if you’re overall earning is $1040, and then you only need to make 23 sales per day.

One is 40 sales, another is 23 sales. If the hops are the same, then the conversion rate of the second one is lower than the first one. If the potential customers think it is worth money to pay value added services of the second product, then you can make more sales. Thus your overall profits improve. It is because we should concern about the overall profits.

Is the product they paid worth that money?
Low price sometimes means low product quality, complaints and high refund rate later. But most affiliates don’t care about the refund rate after they got the commission and extra bonus. For the long-term interest, I think promoting a top quality product is the best choice. Most of the potential customers will search the comments about the product he would like to purchase, if he find so many complaints, then he will find something else. Maybe at first they will be attracted by low price, but after they used the product, most will ask for a refund. Thus the overall profits reduce.

There is another aspect that will affect your overall benefits. It is “$/sale:”.
    You may be confused what it is. Here I would like to show you the whole list. $/sale: $33.82 | Future $: - | Total $/sale: $33.82 | %/sale: 75.0% | %refd: 73.0% | grav: 69.20.

I think you got it now. It is the average sale price that affiliates make. Before you promote some products, please do remember to compare the average sale prices. It is very important for you to make huge earnings.

Though the title says conversion rate and overall profits only. You can find other aspects mentioned above also affect your overall benefits.

After reading this, I think you know that the overall profits is more important than conversion rate.

I will continue to tell you what I know. It is good to share.

Yes, thank you for sharing. I do always look at the average sale prices, but I haven't done a lot of affiliate marketing yet, because I wanted to develop my own products first so that I could eventually see it from both sides, but this kind of information does help me to see it better from a marketers perspective.

I do very much agree with you about having positive feed back about a product across the web, but I also know that there can very likely be negative feedback. I witnessed this personally with a very famous and well respected internet marketer. On the forums related to his product, the feedback was 50/50 - some people were totally bashing it and the cat was out of the bag, but still - there is no doubt in my mind that he made a killing.

What do you suppose the gravity of a more manageable product would look like? This is a big question mark for me. When I say manageable, I mean a product that has just enough competition for me to piggy back off of, but doesn't have so much competition that I won't have a chance.

By manageable I simply meant a product that has enough attention/promotional aid (so that obviously it is selling), but isn't so over-saturated as a trend of everyone trying to make money off of it.

For instance, Forex is a big one of course, but a lot of people are selling it, and that's fine, but there are still a lot of great, profitable products out their that don't have as much competition.

I was curious to know how much gravity could tell you about these types of products? or maybe it doesn't matter how many affiliates are promoting a certain product - perhaps anyone can get a piece of the pie - I've never tried promoting a huge product like that.

    I got what you said.

The Forex is very hot these days when the world economy down. It is a fashion this year. Just like gas4energy products were hot when the oil priced high last 2 years.

Sometimes it doesn't need to choose best-selling products, best selling means hugh competition. Just like what you said, there are still a lot of great and profitable products out there that don't have as much competition.
