Blog Tips needed !

Hello all,
As a rookie, i am trying to harvest as much information as i can to get the Google AdSense idea these days.
So far i decided to run some blogs about my personal interests which are also going to be AdSense friendly (above the fold placements, blending ads etc).
I will appreciate if you can give me some tips about;

• Deciding about the content specification (how specific my main topic should be)
• Blog promotion (asking for non-spam tips)
• Some succesfull & good looking blogs that i can have some ideas from

The best non spamming tips I can think of for a blog is to make sure you ping after every post and make sure you tag every post in technorati with something like autometa

My blog(s) not about myself, let me say not that personal. They are going to be related with my personal interests such as programming and etc.

Blogs in my opinion are a good idea in the sense that you vary the topic title from one topic to another and therefore vary the ads that show on AdSense. For example one part of the blog could be an article on your day trip to a theme park and one could be on mesolthima or something. Just an example by the way.
I would actually say don't use the word "Blog" on the page otherwise you may recieve Blog related AdSense ads which don't pay a very high CTR from what i've read on here.
However there is a way around this and you can use the word Blog everywhere. This is by adding tags around text you want Google AdSense to see and text you would like to de-emphasise.
Personally i'm going to set up a blog in a week or two aswell with limited knowledge aswell.

Now i wonder wd_2k6 because there comes a question.
If the keys are good content and high traffic, then which seems more reasonable ?
A blog that varies from article to another or a blog which focuses on a certain topic...

I'd like to hear the opinions about that from the next replies.
No succesfull blogs with AdSense yet to put here ?

I wouldn't be too sure, its up to you really you can always trial and error. I just believe if you do different topics you will recieve varying amounts of visitors whereas if you stick to one it may be an unpopular topic/search item.

I prefer to stick with a specific topic and keep at it. If I want to start another topic I simply start another blog and build on it.

Take a read at ProBlogger to give you ideas on making a sucessful blog.

If you use section targetting, you will get relevant articles. You then can write a blog/site about various topics.

However the only disadvantage i see with a general site is lack of RSS subscribers.

That doesn't seem like a good idea i'd prefer to moderate comments.
The point i was trying to say by "spamming" was about promoting blogs without using spam methods.

Blogs can be very successful with adsense, its very easy to add adsense to your blog automatically using plugins for wordpress.

Do your research in particular topics which you choose if they are successful or not on the web.

One of the best features of a blog is comments, no need to turn them off, you can download a spamming plugin which stops this.

Always update your blog as much as possible and watch the traffic roll in, I mainly get more traffic from msn than google.
Write a good article and digg it from digg.com and ping every post.

I started my blog on the 5th July 06, I currently earn an average of $1 to $5 a day, which i think is pretty good... I have 41 posts in total.

Hi, I'm running a blog too and using image as primary content and a lil bit of English content. My niche is auto .

- use pinger to promote you blog
- use graphics signature pointed to your blog and join related community forum ) in my case, I joined auto related forum )
- unique and original contents
