I have 5 articles that I have spend years creating and updating and I want to get the best SEO leverage for them and conversions (info requests) from them. They probably average 1,500 words, longer than most of the articles you see out there. I have these questions: 1. Should I post them on my site or distribute them to other article sites? 2. If article sites then which ones? 3. If on my site then what is the best way to publicize them? a. summarize them in a paragraph then post it in digg and/or other sites? b. what other sites should I post them in? 4. Should I just make a landing page for each then promote that page? I think this can bring in a lot of relevant traffic, but I want to make sure I get the best results from them. I'd like to tap into social media and want to know what works best. What has worked for you?
Are you articles informative or pre-sales letter? How would we know whats the best when we don't know even the articles. You could simply use the articles in your own site if they are good and informative, write maybe other articles related to them and promote the previous article with these new articles (by submitting them to article directories). There is so much to do, if you know what your goal(s) are/is...
I agree w/ trapped. It's hard to say one way or another without reading the articles whether they are great content or just mediocre... Personally, I never use submission sites for traffic though some do. My only purpose in using a submission site would be to gain backlinks w/ targeted keyword phrases from relevant pages. Any traffic I get is just a bonus. But that is just me. I can say that if I had an awesome article I damn sure wouldn't waste it by posting it on some article submission site. I would put the article on my own site. Then write lower quality related articles to submit to submission sites. I would add links to the submitted articles pointing back to the high quality articles on my site (like the ones you have already written)... using the high quality article's targeted keyword phrase(s) as the link text for the links on the submitted articles. Good content is hard to come by and is one of the few ways you have of attracting natural inbound links. Don't simply give it away so that someone else's site can benefit from it.
