Let me tell you a bit of history regarding the site before we get to all the nitty gritty figures.

FetchMP3 is a service that allows the downloading of youtube, myspace, veoh and yahoo videos in MP3 form. There are many websites out there that do this admittedly, but not like fetchmp3. Visit the link above to see what I mean.

Right, now that you’re back.

http://www.vidtomp3.com was my first project, and the roots of fetchmp3.com. I developed that site from the beginning and it became very successful, I later sold that site right here on sitepoint for just over $3k within weeks of it being setup. I had to sell the site as I was in financial difficulties so the money I sold it for allowed me to clear some of my debt.

A few months later when I was on the straight and narrow I came up with the idea of FetchMP3.com. Unlike vidtomp3, fetchmp3 was to have a search feature integrated within the site, to allow people to find other videos to download in mp3 form, without navigating to an external site such as Youtube. Not only this, but unlike vidtomp3 it was to be completely custom coded from the ground upward, integrating its own parsers so it didn’t have to rely on external “FLV grabbers”.

Another goal was to make the conversion of the audio slightly more interesting to the user than other sites, and so came the conversion bar and queue – which is a completely unique feature of the site.

FetchMP3 launched late September 2008, since then it has been growing steadily over the months, achieving 1 million searches February 10th 2009 and only a few days ago achieved its real 500,000th conversion/download.

As mentioned earlier the primary goal of FetchMP3 is to make the process of downloading and searching for new music and videos across several websites as simple as possible. Recently the Firefox addon was released which has proven to be very successful. The addon allows a user to download the audio from ANY FLV video file on the internet (as long as it can be located by the browser). This is yet another unique feature of fetchmp3, as it allows users to convert their favourite video files into audio on the fly without downloading additional bulky software to their PC.

FetchMP3 is planning on releasing several more updates in the next few weeks including an advanced member’s favourite system and also the ability to import youtube favourites into a fetchmp3 account (another first in the niche).

FetchMP3 currently boasts between 2,000 – 3,000 unique daily visitors and grown at a steady rate each month.

Since the beginning of the year it has earned $168.43 through Adsense, however please remember the site has not been monetized to his full potential as there is a lot of money to be made through various forms of CPA schemes. I have not implemented those into the site at present as I wanted to focus on developing the site as a whole. Also, as much as I appreciate the fact that the sale of a site is usually determined on the money it makes at present, please take a look at vidtomp3, which now earns thousands of dollars per month.

The site is COMPLETELY custom coded from the ground up, you will NOT see a site on the internet that uses the same script and technology as fetchmp3 as none of the code has been released. The entire fetchmp3 has 12,275 lines of code this excludes any HTML files.

The site also regularly gets organic traffic from Google for terms like “mp3 downloads free”, “free mp3 downloads” and “download songs youtube” as well as many other key terms.
Revenue Details:

The site has not been optimised to earn money, however the money that is earned is gained from Adsense.
Traffic Details:

Traffic is obtained from search engines, direct linking. NO paid traffic at all.

What are the monthly bandwidth/hosting costs?
Is it completely automated?

How come you are selling 50x monthly income, as I would only purchase a site a site based on 3-12x monthly income (and I'm sure many will agree with me). The reason for this, is because once we purchase the site we know for sure that it steadily will make us a good ROI for our purchase.

I will answer each one separately.
Monthly bandwidth allocation is about 600gb
I pay about $80 per month at the moment for a dedicated server.
The site is pretty much automated. The only intervention is when we need to perform maintenance on the site to fix bugs etc.

With regards to my asking price.
I know this website will be a money earner. I tend to focus on the service for my sites rather than the money making aspect. I created vidtomp3.com (not sure if you've heard of it), and this is basically one of the most popular sites of its kind. I sold it for $3k on sitepoint a few weeks after it launch and the stats were NOWHERE near what they are on fetchmp3. The current owner has advised me it earns thousands per month off ad-revenue.
I am only looking to sell the site for what I believe it is fundamentally worth.

I am in NO rush at all to see this site, I am just putting it "out there" for any one that is interested.

The Firefox addon is truly 100% unique for a site of this kind. FetchMP3 is LITERALLY capable of converting any FLV video file on the internet into audio.

A: I no longer own vidtomp3. The current owner has chosen to leave my details on there. I'm not complaining

Q:The forums link does not work. Also the link at the bottom for the "old site" button.
A: The old site was our old design which was taken down about a week ago as we decided maintaining two sites was to much work. Thanks for highlighting that, I will get it removed. As for the forum, the forum link works fine for me.
In case anyone else mentions it, I AM aware that the contact link does not work. We've been focusing on the more important issues and services for the site.

Q: Is this a site that can be managed by someone with no programming background?
A:Yes. A coder is only required if upgrades are required, or bugs are discovered. I haven't written any of the code on the site, my programmer has done the work.

Q:What are the costs associated with the upgrades you have completed on the site?
A:This depends on the feature. Typically under under $100 per feature with my programmer.

Q:What upgrades do you foresee in the near future?

*Upload feature. This allows users to upload any video format and have it converted into audio

A: No, I don't really want to give full access to my account, but I am willing to provide screenshots of any particular area within google analytics.

Q:What are your intentions with respect to using the code in the future?
A: If the site is sold, I will not use any of the code created for fetchmp3 again.
