Slowdown in Google Alerts - tied to SERPS changing?

Have noticed a severe slow down in the quantity of Google Alerts I receive daily from about 20 per day up to and including Friday down to 6 in total over the weekend - yesterday and today combined. At first I thought this was tied to the fact that I had added a load more keyphrases to my account on Friday and thought I had reached some kind of limit then realised that it may be due to Google not wanting to overloading servers during an update. The strange thing is that the few alerts I have received over the weekend only relate to the new phrases I have added indicating that maybe they are being allowed through such as not to put off someone who has only just signed up?

    Anyone else noticed this?

Mine seem to be down as well. I don't have that many keywords and normally get a couple of alerts daily. Now it seems to be one alert every few days.

Well at least it looks like I haven't 'broken' my account. Will let you know when it gets back to normal.

Update: only one alert received today and that was a repeat of an alert I received last week. Something funny is going on with Google's index.

Same problem here, maybe they will repair it soon, it seems some server lag at most.
