So help me out here guys, cause this is all news to me.. Obama knew all about this and faked his anger at AIG?
Nate, right now, its kinda shaky. But according to very reliable sources, Dodd has fessed up (but he has yet to name anyone specifically, in Obama's Admin). We all know Obama knew, but we just can't prove it yet. But I do believe that when he's really threatened, Dodd will sing like Pavoratti. Regardless of how it turns out: 1) Obama has lied 9000 times (about the "line by line" thing); the number of earmarks in the bill. 2) Obama lied about the urgency of getting the bill and signing it, which he didn't do for full 4 days after he got the bill. 3) Obama signed the bill, so he's right, he's "responsible". He authorized those bonuses with his signature. And there's oh so much more to come! One Bad A-- Mistake America!!!
*zzz* Wake me up when you guys actually got something on the President. This is WEAK SAUCE! Meanwhile President Obama is doing his darnedest to turn this country around and I think he's doing a pretty good job.
I'm sorry but after 8 years of having a President who crapped all over the constitution and got us into unneeded wars and broke countless laws I'm not going to get too upset about a little political game playing here and there. This is reality. This is politics. Obama is not a saint. That's a good thing, a saint couldn't get the job done. What he is, is an extremely talented pragmatic politician who wants to get the job done. I recommend reading The Defining Moment. It's a book on FDR and it's very enlightening.
Yes. I would say Lincoln & FDR are both easily among the top five Presidents of all time. Other Presidents I'm impressed by include Theodore Roosevelt & LBJ. Obviously I'm not saying any of these men were perfect. LBJ made horrendous mistakes in Vietnam. FDR made a lot of big mistakes as President. Lincoln too. Mistakes have been made by even the greatest Presidents and yes I think Obama probably made a mistake with this AIG situation, although who knows - maybe it would have been even worse to go the other direction. Presidents have to make very difficult political decisions each and every day. I really think that Obama may someday join the Lincolns, Washingtons, Jeffersons, and Roosevelts among history's finest Presidents because this is another "defining moment." And there are of course the Hooverites/Bushies among us who are going to fight the changes that America needs. There were those who supported Hoover over FDR in the 1930s too.
