adCenter Analytics is stopping!

I just recieved an email from MS that their closing down their Analytics system as of now. No new sites will be allowed and they will stop everything december 31st. After that you will not be able to reach your data, so export and move it before then.

The email can be read here: MS Analytics stopping

I had just opened a forum on MS Analytics, but I guess I can say goodbye to getting any success from that idea.

So does this mean there will be no way to track conversions? I.e when someone lands on a particular page after requesting information, joining a mailing list etc?

Hello muchacho79,

I see that you have some questions about conversion tracking within Microsoft adCenter. I am happy to be able to help you with this.
There are three ways to count conversions in Microsoft adCenter. By default, adCenter counts all conversions. However, you can implement the counting method that works best for you.
  • Count one conversion per click: Microsoft adCenter counts only the first conversion that occurs after the click. Any subsequent conversions are not counted unless they originate from a new click on an ad. This method is a good way to help prevent double-counting. When you use this option, you will most likely see your conversion numbers decrease. The newer numbers are more accurate and can help you make more informed decisions about your ad campaigns. To use this method, follow the instructions to add to your account the conversion tracking script as explained in the Start or stop conversion tracking information found here http://help.live.com/Help.aspx?market=en-US&project=adCenter_Live_SS&querytype=topic&query=MOONSHOT_PROC_RADIO_StartOrStopCT.htm.
  • Count one conversion per unique URL: Microsoft adCenter counts conversions based on the URL and the query string on the conversion page. Use this option if you have, or can add, unique codes into your URLs and want adCenter to filter based on that unique information.
  • Count all conversions: Counts all conversion events and does not filter, reports all conversion events. This counting method works well if you have your own way to count refreshes or if you want to count the total number of clicks.If you need further assistance;

I've had analytics code on my site to track conversions for sometime - all I'm after is, will this bit of code still work?

I think that they currently can't compete with Google Analytics
