Ok www.digitalpod.co.uk or www.digital-pod.com???

Right so ive made a forum, and I want your opinion on which domain name I should buy, digitalpod.co.uk or digital-pod.com. Please help me decide

 

It would be better to take .co.uk and it is also with no ( - ) in between.

digitalpod.co.uk appears already registered

 

No digitalpod.co.uk isnt registered but the .com version is, so you think that if I go for digitalpod.co.uk rather than digital-pod.com it will get more visitors?

 

I dont like the -'s in domains. I would go for the .co.uk (if you are targetting the UK).

 

I'm not targeting the UK i'm targeting the world.

 

Go for the .com version then with the - in if it isnt available without the -.

 

I really want digitalpod.com but its not available, I may go for the .com with the '-' in it ill just wait for a couple more reply from people to see what they think. Thanks for your help MatthewN.

 

if you are targetting world then co.uk will be less useful. still you can get good world ranking for co.uk but you need to promote more (may be few times more) than .com site.
"-" domain names are considered as keyword rich. so you can go ahead with dogital-pod.com

 

Ok so then if I go ahead with that name the bots will crawl it etc. and It will yield me more traffic from the world than the co.uk name would?

 

I am with the others, if you are targetting the world, set your main domain without the .co.uk. If you need to get a .com or a .net, it would be better. Are you able to get any other variant to the name ?

Yes exactly. if you have same domain .co.uk and .com have sme linking then .com would rank to global SEs better and .co.uk will have better ranking on UK serach Engins

Get the .net or the .org variant. To me those are the best alternatives.

 

I agree with mad4... the longer it's left the least chance you will have of it being available still.

For the sake of $9 or so it would be worth you getting it now before it's too late.
