No I don't which ones are the best, just looking for some real examples of programs that you have used, that have been the most beneficial to gaining backlinks etc. I'm looking for services that can help make the process a little easier, but not just paying someone in widget town to do it.

Figure out your own marketing plan.

If it includes articles then get an automated submission tool and have at.
If it includes Blog Comments then get a tool for that
If it includes Social Bookmarking then find a tool for that.

It's all about using software to automate (And by Automate I don't mean push a button and get links, I mean Manage the drudgery like typing in your URL, Email Address, etc. over and over).

Link building is part of marketing and there are many tools to help in the process regardless of your methods.

Use Google or Yahoo or whatever you want and type in things like "article directory submission software" and then start reading and see what might work best for you.

Very good advice, but I wanted reviews from people that are using such programs you speak of. Sometimes the on site reviews are too hyped up.

Well I appreciate your opinion, but again I am curious what experiences others have had with a paid tool, that might differ from a free tool. Certainly there is a paid tool that exists that might be better than a free one, and worth the investment?

Well in my personal opinion, the iBusinessPromoter by Axandra.com is by far the best website promotion tool that I've ever seen. It has all the tools you need to bring your site to the top of the search results for the major search engines. It includes tools for on-site optimization, back link building, automated as well as semiautomated directory submission, keyword research tools, ranking checker as well as a host of other functionalities. I have also used PHP link building scripts in the past but they are a big hassle since everything resides on the server. Whereas with iBusinessPromoter, you have the whole link database stored locally on your hard drive. Additionally, you can upload your link directory at the click of a button with the built-in FTP functionality, so you don't need a separate FTP client. It also has the backup function which you can use to backup your project from time to time.

For what its worth, I just bought the ibusinesspromoter tool last night.
I downloaded their demo version and was quite impressed with the level of analytics it gave, but the demo version just doesnt give enough specifics for how to fix your site. So I popped for the $250 that it cost and used it to fix up my site to target a few search phrases.

We'll see if it works. The level of information is very good for structuring your own site, and it does have a tool to submit to many directories, but the most work is still in developing back links to your site. ibusinesspromoter puts heavy emphasis on getting back links from other quality sites, and the social network sites such as digg and del.icio.us

We'll give it the 90 days like they recommend and see what happens!

I second the IBP notion. I use it primarily for competitive research so I can update my site to beat theirs.

    +1 for IBP.

Also outsource SEO tasks like link building, blog commenting, forum posting, social bookmarking, etc to cheap workers.

I thought Digg was nofollow. So do they have a 90 day refund policy or anything?

I know a lot of people that swear by SEO Elite, which I've found useful in analysis, but not really promotion.

I've heard good things about WebCEO but never used it, all the "good" software I've seen are basically a browser that helps you navigate directly to directories, blogs, articles websites and allows you to post your information automatically. Firefox has an extension to do that for FREE. If you want to track your work automatically than a software might help from there on I don't think they are worth the money.
