Cool Google Says, No More Copied or illegal Content

Read adsense new policy about copy contents

Quote:
Sometimes we receive reports about AdSense code appearing on websites that may contain content copied from other websites. We understand that many of our publishers are concerned about this issue, so we'd like to give you some information about the procedures and tools you can use to protect your content.

For example, let's suppose you own a movie blog, where you recently posted an article about your favorite actor. After publishing it, you notice that another website has copied and published your article without your permission. The owner of the other website doesn't respond to your requests to remove the content, and it is monetizing their pages with AdSense.

In a situation like this, where you believe that a site containing AdSense code is illegally copying your site's content, you can let us know by following the process described in our
Help Center.
Quote:

The notice should be sent directly from the owner of the copyrighted materials allegedly being infringed (in the example above, that's you), as we are unable to accept third-party copyright complaints. Also keep in mind that we are unable to process copyright complaints received through the
AdSense policy violation report form. Once we've received a notice of infringement, we will take appropriate action.

Sounds like a bad idea on google's part. Don't get me wrong - I hate it when people rip me off, but I don't know why they'd want to get in the middle of it.

Wow I predict at least 10 new bans this week and ban complaints on the forum regarding this lol.

Google sooner or later is going to have to just narrow it down to- "You have to send us the content before it's posted or else we'll ban hammer you."

Google has the authority to make or break any website. Its good to see that they are stepping up to police the Internet. However, i agree that this is going to be a huge pain for them.

I'm sure they are tired of all the bummed content, and their servers having to waste time weeding through it all, makes their job harder.

How can one prove that the content came from Website A and was copied to Website B??? Does that make sense?

Website A - New Blog Post

Website B - Copied New Blog Post from Website A

How can Google prove this?

It is definitely not as simple as it looks....I do not see how google can mediate in such stuff. After all...do they have the capacity to verify which one is genuine and which one is not...?

Well, if one site looks legit, like Mattcutts.com and another like a spam, whatever site, I'm guessing they will choose the former, only way it can be done

@Lpe, makes perfect sense to me, I actually didn't think about it that way. I guess if you have 1 or 2 "scraped" articles from a site on your entire blog (Which would be really stupid to scrape content, if you have an established blog) you must be in the clear... But Auto Blogs (Ahem!! ;-)) are the culprit.

copied means copy and pasted from one site to another as it is?
if yes than how the hell they will be able to find out in case of rewritten articles?

True...
~1.5 years ago PC World (or a similar large computer mag) estimated that over 75%-90% of all new blogs are Spam Blogs.

It's nothing new. I got many people banned from Adsense for copying my content. It's very satisfying.

To just cite an example....
If I have begun to do really well with an offer and I am really eating into a well established competitor with my good original writings....
So, he decides to edit his older post and copy some of my original content there...and reports to google about me being lifting the content....I am sure google will punish me...and my so-called established competitor will have a hearty laugh !

How can Google be fair in such instances ?
(I am just expressing my view..from the other side of the coin...)

Regards,

RightMan

Internet police?
Don't you guys agree that's too much power for a company that's in the business of money making? What mentioned by RightMan is another case where I think Google shouldn't be having so much power in deciding what's right and wrong - we, big or small, are after all trying to make money online.

Google can check their cache and see that his wasn't the original content.
