You will get more control over your blogs when you are using a self hosted wordpress blog. Wordpress is easy to manage and maintain.
    It looks more professional too.
Hosting isn't that costly. you will find lot of cheap web hosting plans in the dp itself.
    Good luck

I would recommend self - hosting as getadviced as mentioned the benefits are control over what you can do with your site and how you would like the layout to be etc. Registering a site can cost about $10 (for a year) and hosting can cost anything in between $10-$70 (per year) dependent on who you goes with and what type of hosting you want.

I would recommend self-hosting on a smallish hosting plan and see how you get on. If you need any help just let me know.

    Kind Regards

But when it comes to choosing between a blog hosted with Wordpress.com or a blog with Blogger.com, i'll go with blogger bcoz you'll get adsense enabled by default while WP requires a fee to enable ads on your blog.

I suggest going with either a blog at wordpress.com or a self hosted wordpress blog. If your not ready to deal with a server, just sign up for a blog account at wordpress.com. The controls are almost exactly like a self hosted wordpress blog.

And with wordpress.com, the controls are a lot easier to use then blogger and its a lot easier to customize your profile.

The question is, are you ready to lease your own server and maintain your own site?

No - free blog at wordpress.com

Yes - self hosted wordpress site.

I have an account at wordpress.com and a couple of self hosted wordpress sites. On the wordpress.com site - its nice not having to deal with updates, security or backups. But then again, by hosting my own sites I can install plugins that I cant on wordpress.com.

As everyone else has said, just go with the self-hosting + Wordpress. I really like 000webhosting's free hosting, so you might wanna try that out.

NO! This is not the case on a self-hosted WordPress blog. Self-Hosted is the key difference here. You can do whatever you want on a self-hosted WP blog including AdSense. There are no fees paid to WordPress when you host a blog on your own domain with your own hosting account.

Self hosted is the best idea as otherwise you won't get 100% control of it.

    @Ira - Yup.

Learning Wordpress is very easy. The official wordpress has lots of resources to start with and there are plenty of websites, forums and blogs dedicated to it.

As everyone has said, definitely use a self hosted Wordpress blog. You have 100% control, it looks more professional, and there are thousands of plugins to make managing your blog easier, increase SEO, etc. However, make sure to use a Blogger blogger to create a backlink back to your website.

Self hosted wordpress will be better, more option and more control by your own. Blogger is for the beginner only, most of them are moving to self hosted wordpress after they familiar with blog
