    Hellooo DigitalPoint!

    Peace to all!

I just bought the latest version of SEO Certification software from "seocertification.org" - (copy and paste or type seo certification in google - they do not deserve a link back IMO)

I spent $89 for their professional 250$ (they running discount till 15th feb) you get

    Exam guide
    Exam software

You also get the vip member access area (sucks) see this:

    image link : http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/2482/44245022im6.jpg

I am just running the test now - practice test - and it has loads of grammar and spelling mistakes - I am thinking like WTF? why major companies like seoconsult (#1 for SEO in google.co.uk) are displaying their badges on the footer - its a load of crap so far - spelling mistakes? common - you would think all the reviews that they have made up on: would be at least highlighting their own flaws

Also on the screenshot - the "articles" and "forums" page just say along the lines of "we are working on our own forums" in the meantime check out blah blah blah

Will let you know if I pass the exam and if I get the logo and directory listing link on their high page rank directory

    A very pissed off env.

Oh just to mention that also the pass mark is 75 and the pass score is based on 72 questions ???

Also its CAP sensitive so one question was what is css I said Cascading Style Sheets and it said it was "cascading style sheets" without the caps and it is also single and plural sensitive - questions like this should have many different answers rather than the idiot programmer who made this.

    Answers should have been

    cascading style sheet
    cascading style sheets
    Cascading Style Sheet
    Cascading Style Sheets

Thanks for the heads up - it's pretty ridiculous what they charge given your experience so far. Let us know how the rest of it goes, but it really does sound like something to avoid. I can't say I've seen their logo often on other "certified" pages, but now I'll be keeping an eye out and maybe asking those web masters about their experience with it as well.

Sounds dodgy... maybe pop a comment on Matt Cutts blog, asking him to comment of his opinion, or even Google's official line on that service???

If you think this is a scam, look at SEMPO, it is about $300 per year and they provide nothing. I join and there is nothing on the website even worth reading about

I just passed. I have emailed them over 5 times. No reply. There is no way to prove you past - its offline software - I cannot believe I wasted my money on this. If anyone wants the software let me know. I just think some Indians (Not BR) have set this up, but even seoconsult.co.uk have them on their footer unless they are lying too - the biggest seo company

Think I'll make my own SEO Certification Board and get loads of mugs chucking money at me just so they can put a graphic on their page - which in turn promotes my site !! HECK,, I'll get onto it straight away !

Hi Env, sorry to hear you got caught up here, but your feedback is welcome and appreciated, i hope other people will now write a blog about this company and experience and they will be put out of business.

To truly check if someone knows about SEO checkout out their home page for common seo mistakes such as no h1 header tag, using left hand navigation menus without the use of tables, keyword spamming in the meta tags, and last but not least put the first keyword phrase from the title into google.

unfortuantely you did the google check and it did not help you. sadly everyone is now an expert in SEO and many businesses are being conned into putting good money into seo and they find that it does not help them in the long run.

I guess the best strategy is to keep posting on forums that the only way to learn seo is by doing and by hours and hours of practice, google could help by removing the old articles on seo from their index,

@seolondonconsultants. Was considering the same thing.

Update #1 - this site page is very high up in google ranks for the seocertification.org so at least people can see

I passed my exam, received an email with a button, got a certificate through the email via digital pdf and listed in their 0page rank directory, looks like this :

    http://members.seocertification.org...o2i3f/23fk23fml2m3f2f/member/23f2mfopm2f.html

Shame its not a good directory like a MSN adcenter approved list of developers :) they need to work on that for marketing and PR

I also want to say I am still waiting on the mail certificate via post. Will keep you all updated. Think its a nice way to put an image on your site - there are around 200 people done it so far.

I don't understand what the certification is for? Is it something that is industry recognised?

Sorry I come from a programming background, where certification examples would be the Sun Certified Java Exams. Which many employers recognise, and so help you get a job against a similarly experienced candidate.

@sjmassey - no industry reconises this, no governing body covers SEO, no one understands nor is bothered about this certification - no industry has confirmed this, even people like Matt Cutts are not SEO approved as he works for Google - SEO is no just about Google, so many people are stupid that they have a default homepage which is MSN.com and they would literally search for Google from MSN

Where does SEO come into then?

    TEO123
    - I will keep you updated in terms of if I get the certification actually delivered to my address
