STOLEN DOMAINS violetunderground.com, dvlmfdonations.org, guzman-guzmanlawoffice.com

The following domains have been scammed from me last night:

violetunderground.com (PR5)
dvlmfdonations.org (PR5)
guzman-guzmanlawoffice.com (PR5)

The scammer uses the email address ldarushl@yahoo.com and the Paypal account legia_cwks@yahoo.com.

It's getting harder and harder to make an honest living online. If you get offers to buy any of these domain names, please DO NOT buy them. I am in the process of trying to recover them.

Thanks,

JC

@ZoomCities: Yes, several members have also informed me that user PR9 has been attempting to sell the domains via PM. Please do not buy them; they are stolen domains. Thanks!

The old GoDaddy and Paypal story..

1. Buyer paid the seller via Paypal
2. Seller verified payment and transfer the domain to Buyer
3. Buyer filed a chargeback to Seller's paypal account
4. Funds reclaimed.

I think thats how it works correct me if I am wrong..

One variation of the Go Daddy-Paypal story:

1. Buyer hacks someone else's Paypal account and uses it to pay for a domain.
2. Seller verifies payment and transfers the domain to Buyer.
3. Real owner of Paypal account finds out and files an unauthorized payment claim.
4. Paypal takes the money back and gives it back to the real Paypal owner.
5. Seller is left with nothing -- no money, no domain.

Yeah I had that similar issues too with one of my web hosting websites.. Paypal should really do something about it.. I think they have started with that Paypal Key or something but that ain't going to work for everyone

Paypal is the main problem here. If they patch whatever security holes they have, Paypal accounts won't be so easy to hack.

Paypal users have their faults as well. We should all be very careful about keeping our passwords to our Paypal (and any other online account, including DP account) secure. Secure your email accounts as well! If they can get to your email address, they can get to your Paypal accounts, Go Daddy account, DP accounts, etc.

It's sad that we all have to be wary about scammers in our midst. This experience makes it even harder to trust people that you deal with online.

I had also once when I sold off a reseller account for $100+ valid for 3 years.

It was a hacked paypal but no loss to me because I got the account back by telling the hosting company the details.

Well said.. well what can we do huh.. we're just an average person compare to who ever is profiting from paypal... They wont really care too much as long as their making a lot of money from taxes..

Did he use the same username when he bought the domain from you or he has another (older with higher reputation) account?

He was able to hack both the Paypal account and the email address associated with the Paypal account. So it looked pretty legit. Usually, scammers can only hack the Paypal account, not the email account. So when you get a notification that you have received payment from a buyer, reply to that email to verify if the person really has access to the email address. If he doesn't have access to the email account, that means he doesn't own the Paypal account.

But like I said, this guy hacked both Paypal account and the associated email address, which made it look like he really owned the Paypal account.

yes,
i used to have these domains for couple of hours and now i pushed them back to who i bought them.
i didnt like to tell these words in here but Jose Cuervo pmed me and told i'm the scammer..
i pmed him and explain the all story but he just continue his words..also he made me an offer to scam the guy
and he will back my money...
i dont care about the money and domain now..
and i got my money back from who i bought them and pushed the domains back.
one question with over 180 iTrader ,you still cant find the right dealer?
i just see every month you come open a thread and post these domains stolen from you..
when you cant find the right dealer why you deal with some one which you dont know?
did i pm ed you?did i got your domains?
today you made me lots of headache and many of my buyers came to me and asking why where how and etc..

in other short word: go get a life

Go Daddy confirmed that the domains have not changed owners since I pushed them to the scammer last night. So I'm not sure how it's possible that PR9 bought them from the scammer, and pushed them back again.
