Copying the exact code is illegal, but you can't copyright ideas or concepts.

But I believe if your trying to start a site like that up you are on a lost cause. There are thousands of ones before you. So unless you have any coding knowledge and can customize things, you'll probably not get big at all and would be lucky if you had 500 members.

People have tried finding a niche in the social marketing scene and have been very successful, don't give up, but really breaking in and making a substantial impact on the social marketing scene is highly unlikely. Good luck!

Social site need a time to develop unless you have a unique idea with your site. Maybe you need to study this type of social site and recreate a custom script.

You need to have a pretty unexplored niche and some dang good site content if you want it to work out for you. When you come up with a niche, research some to see exactly how much competition you have. Remember, most of your competition is well established (years and years)

What i mean really is i found a site who makes facebook clones, is it LEGAL to buy one and start a social network?

They coded the site themselves im assuming.

Here is the Site that sells the clones -

    http://www.facebookclonesoft.com

They sell them , so is it Legal to buy and start a social network with the clone script.

    Thanks,

    -C

Don't make a Facebook clone, nor a myspace clone, make your unique social networking site. Find a coder that makes a good site, and find people to help your cause....and mostly, think about this, really hard. And I mean, really, really hard, because it requires more than just advertising, more than just "finding that one niche," more than just building a brand, you need a unique social website.

If you don't. You won't know what demographic you're attracting, what kinds of methods of marketing you should use, or let alone HOW to grab that fanbase.
