LOL! I've found this really interesting and wanted to share it with you guys I was browsing the threads here and a member was telling another how to check your backlinks and he said type "link:www.yourdomain.com" I tried scrolling down but accidentally clicked on it and the parked-domain loaded with a PAGE RANK OF 7!! I bet there was absolutely no SEO work involved, but purely because everyone would say "www.youdomain.com" just like the member on that thread did when explaining something Whoever parked that domain and others like "yoursite.com" or "yoururl.com" can make some good easy money
Yep, High PR from all those back links.. The alexa is quite impressive too. The same would apply for sites like domain.com, example.com, site.com, mysite.com etc.. Cheers James
Hmm on my toolbar shows a PR7 .. weird anyways DnScoop values the domain @ $6,158,576!! Here are some other stats from DnScoop; The total number of pages that contain links to www.yourdomain.com: 226,959 Domain age (approximately): 11 Years, 7 Months, 7 days.. Current AlexaRank for www.yourdomain.com: 61,409
This is probably becuase of people using "yourdomain.com" for examples in types of documentation. You are actually supposed to use www.example.com for documentation and examples. That is the official "example" domain.
Oops... My bad. I was meant to check the alexa of yourdomain.com not yoursite.com.. Actually yourdomain.com has a better alexa ranking (but only buy a few thousand) And although yoursite.com looks like a hosting site, it is just a parked page (more an affiliate landing page). all links on the page are affiliate Godaddy links.. wonder what sort of money its making Cheers James
Well did u notice 1 thing http://www.yoursite.com/ and http://yoursite.com/ are not same. And they dont link to godaddy but they are also a reseller of http://www.wildwestdomains.com/ like godaddy is
nope I did not notice that... When I visit Yoursite.com (without www) all links on that page return to Yoursite.com (without www).. at least they do for me. I just visited that wildwestdomains. If you have a look at the address bar, you will see this. wildwestdomains.com/gdshop/default.asp?.... same when you click on a link from yoursite.com (with the www) you get this. securepaynet.net/gdshop/registrar/search.asp? Go to GoDaddy, click on a link and you will get this... godaddy.com/gdshop/registrar/search.asp? I always thought gdshop stood for GoDaddy shop. But I could be wrong.. If you go here, (which is a one of the links from yoursite.com), you will see the left nav bar is the same as the one GoDaddy use on there site. Cheers James
