My guess is that they'll evaluate what happens in beta, use the data that they get from that - before the big blackhatters get in on it and attempt to skew the results completely - and use that info to calculate what changes would be beneficial to the algorithm. I don't see them ever setting much value on it, as it's too obviously easily manipulated.

That's exactly my fear. They invested some $$$ and effort to bring this alive, so i' d say they are planning to be more "user defined" than ever in near future. This brings some issues, the first is how a simple script can use proxies, "click" on Up and Down and change the regular output of serp's. I don't know if this is achievable but i guess good coders can always find a way to crack it.

    Your thoughts?

And if search manipulation via SearchWiki is as obvious as it is, Google will have to implement is very carefully. Even would want anyone playing around with the system. Not only will it make vulnerable but also affect the quality of SERPs. The quality of search results is what made Google the market leader and they would not like to let it go.

Definitely would open the doors to some black hat strategies... but the thought process behind giving people results that are extremely relevant and have value makes very good sense.
