Sorry in advance if I've posted this in the wrong forum. I am looking for a cheap hosting service with a good selection of features and good support and would appreciate some advice. Has anyone got any suggestions? What's the consensus about GoDaddy - good or bad?

I highly recommend http://www.hosthead.com I personally know many webmasters who use them and are very happy with their service.
I use bluehost.com Its cheap and they are easy to get in touch with if you need to talk to someone. I did a lot of comparison shopping and this was the best choice for me. I host 6 different websites under one account for $6.95 (total) a month and I just called to find out about hosting more domains and they said I could add 5 more for $5. That works out to $1.08 per site per month! Here are a couple features but you might want to go to bluehost.com for more details : 15 Gigabyte Hosting Space Free Domain Forever! web hostingHost 6 Domains on 1 Account!!! 2,500 POP/Imap Email Accounts 400 GIGS of Transfer Free Site Builder 24/7 Superb/Responsive Sales/Support...
sorry... I thought I was above the law I was actually testing you guys out to see how long it would take you to catch it... Just under 3 minutes before I got reported, not bad! JK I had that affiliate link on my blog and copied the URL forgetting that you're not supposed to do that. It won't happen again I promise. Bluehost.com is still my favorite choice though and they are the hosting company that I use.
Thanks for all your help guys. I'm asking on behalf of a friend who is paying NZ$30 a month at the moment (about US$20) to host a small website. He was looking at going with GoDaddy, but I warned him off that because I have a GoDaddy "mess around" account and I've found it almost impossible to connect to their FTP in the evenings NZ time (which I assume is daytime in the US).
I like LunarPages... however only if you are small. Hosting-Q.com is my offereing. Includes a lot-- even JSP support. What's different-- my base is small so I offer software consulting and management services at reduced rates. I am looking for small business owners who want an online blogging presence. Q...
