Via ZDNet Responding to concerns about click fraud in the online-ad industry, Google will be revealing to advertisers the number of invalid clicks on their ads with changes it's set to make to its AdWords system late Tuesday. Now advertisers will be able to see the number of invalid clicks Google found, as well as what percentage that represents of total clicks registered, said Shuman Ghosemajumder, business product manager for trust and safety at Google. This opens a can of worms..........
As I understand it its not just Adsense, its the Adwords ads as well. You will be able to see if loads of your competitors are clicking on your adverts.
Trust is the primary concern by Google here. They're known for it few years back. So they still want to maintain that trust from millions internet users around the world.
Holy hell, about time. Now all they have to do is put diminished serving of ads to the same IP + cookie AND automatic flagging of AdWords publishers who overclick competitor ads in their niches
Has anyone got any other stats on this? Mine appear to be as I would expect, has anybody got a really high number of invalid clicks?
i have paused my current campaign ! because im loosing money...and i dont have anything solid to sell actually...so its jus a waste rite now.... But i love adwards.
when they happen. http://www.latimes.com/business/pri...1,3618654.story?coll=la-headlines-pe-business
Interesting move, part of the awakening on $90mil settlement case. I sincerely hope that Google will take steps to protect it's publishers as well by notifying them with the offending IP's.
That is good news. If Google just ignored invalid clicks rather than banning publishers it would also be a step forward IMHO.
This is really cool, and I guess will attract more advertiser because of the transparency. How I wish they also include a report of invalid clicks in adsense, so that publishers can monitor where invalid click came from.
