I have been looking around a few new keywords to play with. I recently came across this long tail keyword that doesn't really send a lot of traffic, just an average long tail keyword but it is "loans for people with bad credit". I was going through the websites that were ranking high and I was SHOCKED to see the results. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&gl=us&q=loans+for+people+with+bad+credit I started from page 1 and went till page 14 and I found a bunch of cloaked/spam websites. I thought that it is a glitch and will be fixed soon but after 15 days, it still remains there. These are some of the results ranking "HIGH" for this long tail keyword online.linnstate.edu/calendar.html/?loan-id=77 dpsoc.danbury.k12.ct.us/moodle/course/view.php/?blog-loan=39 dewa03.unep.org/gallery2/main.php/?invest=125 learncompsci.com/class/calendar/view.php/?help-page=32 edtcserver.coe.tamu.edu/moodle/index.php/?page-id=70 katm.org/joomla/index.php/?solution=85 technik.tsn.at/index.php/?get-info=59 www.m7.mech.pk.edu.pl/index.php/?easy=112 online.linnstate.edu/calendar.html/?loan-id=19 courses.browning.edu/tag/mf/?Personal-loans-with-bad-credit-2/ courses.browning.edu/tag/mf/?Personal-loans-with-bad-credit-8 chaucer.umuc.edu/moodle/mod/resource/view.php/?get-help=242 mytraining.utsa.edu/index.php/?help-page=287 Code (markup): This is just the tip of the iceberg. These pages are present in every data center, the only thing that vary is that sometimes they rank high and sometimes, even higher. Get it? Either way, this is totally spam and it's amazing how these pages are actually out rankings other legit sites that rank high for extremely competitive keywords like payday or loans etc. How come the Google's algo has failed to catch this web pages? If you click through pages, you'll notice that sometimes there are 4-5 pages ranking on a single page. That is simply amazing. I am actually not at all happy with Google because, the webmasters who did their homework and followed their guidelines are probably missing out the traffic. Ok, I know the traffic is not "huge" per say but still, I consider any traffic as, well.... traffic! It has the potential to convert regardless how high or small it is. Please share your thoughts and your opinions regarding this? Should I report this to Google or should I just wait to see if this clears out soon enough? How come these pages that do not even exist are ranking so high? Obviously, it is blackhat but they have been showing up for more than 2 months and for the last 15-20 days, they have been ranking pretty high. Thanks!
I know what you mean... unfortunately. Since last October 28th Google is really dumb. Lot's of searches full of spam. Tired of all this shit frankly. Better turn to black hat.
thats really worrying..google needs to update the algo and punish those black hatters or otherwise the whole internet will be just a bunch of junk sites
Will be? Right now i see spam in all of the keywords i work with. All of them. A few weeks ago i related here that Yellow Pages were ranking #1 for "holidays in ciprus" (kind of) keyword at google.com. Can this get more dumber than this?
Looks like the quality of their search results have degraded. They need to seriously look into their algo loophole.
Hmm yes some of those sites are rather unsavoury. Its so frustrating when you work so hard to promote a legitimate business through SEO and a load of rubbish ranks above you
It's been full of spam since the beginning, all you need to do is to work harder to rank above those crap websites
Yes. I search lots of keywords everyday and there are lots of spam sites in the search results.Google has to stop this.
Nopes, they are still there. In fact, fresh pages have been added and that means the number of the results have actually increased. Not only this, I am seeing even more spam. fairgoaussieloansfordebtconsolidationsandpersonalloans.street-directory.com.au/ Code (markup): What type of domain is that? Longest ever I have seen! There are webpages that do not even exit. It even says PAGE NOT FOUND in Google search results yet it's ranking. Like I said, the number of spam pages have actually increased. This is spreading across the whole finance niche outranking legit websites.
Not only finance: travel, services, health, holidays... You name it. Praying to get my sites back up there, but also praying that those shitty results go away for good. Since last update late October early November all google serp's are just shameful.
Know what? A few years ago i reported some sites. Guess what? They're still up there. A few pages bellow, but they're there. So i guess i won't report spam ever again. It's pretty useless.
The quality of the google algo has degraded consistently as they gotten more and more search share/popular. I see spam links come up in whatever search I do that isn't a generic popular search (i.e. CNN, Dogs, etc.). Yeah, I've reported to Google about sites that are merely redirects to a result that is already ranked high on the SERP, so essentially two listings on a search, but they've nothing. also, it doesn't matter what you report, nothing really seems to be done anymore. Just as bad as the report windows error message.
