In crawl rate. i see this message. "Your site has been assigned special crawl rate settings" Is It Good?
You may use this setting only for root level sites and sites not hosted on a large domain like blogspot.com (we have special settings assigned for them).
If you don't have control over your own domain, then you can't change those settings... However, the domain admins knows what is the best for their main domain.. and for sure it's the best for you too
Never change the crawl rate because the search engines know when to crawl but you can do that if you feel that your site is very active and the frequency of visits by the bots is limited. Otherwise, leave it to the default status.
Thanks Friends, but actual question is not answered. I have Same issues with my site http://www.thewowimages.com Special rate is Good or Bad?? __________________ Funny Pictures
You should be really happy if you get that. Special Crawl Status is given to big publishers like News sites which are updated every minute.
Without knowing the value of the "special crawl rate settings", ie. faster or slower, the question is impossible to answer. Also if your site is mainly a graphics gallery etc, it could mean normal Googlebot will not crawl often but Googlebot-Image may be set to visit more often. Some domains that have been "parked" and unused for a long time also end up with "special crawl rate settings", meaning googlebot will basically visit once in a blue moon.... such as the user in the post at http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1262134
I completely agree with vagrant...coz for both, ever fresh news sites and parked domains, special crawl rate settings is associated...bad or good cant be predicted without knowing that what type of special rate it is.
Answer from google support forums: The special crawl rate settings apply to sites where we are manually optimizing the crawl rate on our side. This is often due to feedback from the webmaster, the hoster or just generally because we've determined that the site can profit from a manual crawl rate setting by our engineers. In general, you do not have to worry about the crawl rate setting if this is the case with your site.
More from a google rep "You usually won't have to fiddle with those settings, which is why they aren't available to all sites. We usually work out how much we can (and want to) crawl automatically. I would generally only change these settings if we're crawling your site too hard (and slowing down your server)."
I think you have changed the crawl rate from your webmaster account. Better keep the previous setting. The
