I haven't really posted on Digital Point much but I had to share my link building tips with you all because I believe that it's really brought me some major success. First, for the Noobs Link building is not always fun. Don't expect to get 10,000 links to your site in a day. Do expect to work hours and hours on end. Don't expect people to link to cruddy content. Link Building Tips that will "Rock your Socks"... I guess lol So here is the deal, I use a few different strategies when it comes to building links to my site successfully and I go for the quality over quantity type of links. Writing and Submitting Ezines. (see my page) Squidoo and Hubpages Commenting on DoFollow Blogs Collaborating - Link Exchanges Guest Posts Now, you're probably thinking, "Great, he told us what he does, but for goodness sakes, he needs to show us how to do it..." Link Building Tips that will "Rock your Socks"... Part II Writing and Submitting Ezines - This is as important as writing articles for your own site. No joke here. Look at the views I have received from Ezine. 93 clicks to my sites from 6 articles. Daaannng.... So obviously Ezines are the bomb. Seriously. Use them to your advantage because they not only bring you traffic, they also usually become pretty powerful backlinks. Quick Tip: If you have a new site do a 1:1 ratio sort of thing. For every post you put on your blog, reword it and put it on Ezine. Squidoo and Hubpages - Now, I am going to be honest: I am not completely familiar with Hubpages however, I am with Squidoo. Here's the deal. Squidoo is another awesome source of traffic, but it's not really as much of an article as it is a Resource - or even almost a book. Squidoo's are nice and are great for links, but have to be updated over time. Kind of like a blog. The best Squidoo pages are usually LONG. Again, a Squidoo is not something you can write in a night unless you're using Dragon Natural Speaking 10. Commenting on Dofollow Blogs (Noobs) There is a difference between just blog commenting and commenting on a blog which will actually help you rank higher in the search engines. Commenting on blogs that hand out nofollow links will be ignored by the search engines. They won't help you rank higher. However, commenting on dofollow blogs will be loved by the search engines and raise your rankings. Commenting on Dofollow Blogs (EVERYONE) How in the heck do I go about finding dofollow blogs? You can use Fast Blog Finder or you can do the trick below.. Go to Yahoo Site Explorer Type in a URL of a semi-popular website When the list of results appear, look for deep pages or www.blank.com/deeppage Deep pages that link out to a site have a chance of coming from the comment section and have a chance of being dofollow. Collaborating, Link Exchanges, Guest Posts - You all have probably heard this one before and they're all great ideas to share readers and gain popularity, respect, and higher rankings in the search engines. I explain the importance of collaborating in this video. Final Tip: Don't do it all in a day. Write one Ezine a day. Do a guest post once or twice a month. Comment on 10 - 20 dofollow blogs a day. Keep writing those Hubpages and Squidoos. Finally, I have to say this. Professional Bloggers are always saying that content is king. Sure, that's true. But it's not king if nobody is viewing it. That's why you must promote yourself and build links (especially early on,) if you want to become a successful blogger. Other tips to add to this? I know there are more tips out there. This is just my strategy. What do you think of my strategy? Do you have any extra tips or ideas to add?
Press release are a kick *ss way to get alot of traffic, and backlinks from high page ranking, and authority sites. The easiest way I created backlinks was by using rss directory submitter software. You enter your sites rss feed, push the button, and the software does the rest. Very easy. I consider forums to be the funnest way of creating backlinks - just put your link in your signature and participate in the fun. Lately blog comments have not been super great, as many blog links are no follow. This firefox plug in highlights all no follow links http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/ . There is allow blog comment software that does the same thing, but to be honest I have been geeting lots of "no results found" reports after searching through hundreds and hundreds of blogs. I have been blogging about backlink creating lately as it is the most important part of getting traffic and pr. You can also find some backlink tools inside of the free members area of Information Ninja. Viral Backlinking Because link building can be so tedious you really want to leverage your efforts by having your links go viral. Article marketing is viral because people are allowed to use your article on their site as long as they include the "about the author" section that links to your website. Pdf files are crawled and indexed by the search engines so give away a ebook with links to your site, and encourage people to add it to their site. Also submit it to the free ebook directories. Other viral methods include creating blog templates (with your link in them), widgets, software, and anything else you can think of that you can give away, and people will use on their sites.
Very helpful. I am pretty dang good at creating Blogger templates. I should definitely begin to do that in my spare time. That'd help a lot for sure. Thanks so much. +++ REP
You missed forums and directories. Guest posts are indeed a good way to get trusted backlinks with relevant surrounding text.
Great tips guys hey Robert can you recommend a good rss submitter software. I can't seem to find any with a free trial, and i would hate to fork out $$$ to find out it sucks
Some good tips. Also when you are building links always do manual. I have seen more and more people lately on DP talk about mass auto submissions to directories and it actually will end up hurting you.
great tips roberts. the way u describe is effective and some new techniques are also come out here. i like that part give free pdf book. and now lots of people began to start this things too.
ttomp13, how long were those 6 articles up for before you got 93 URL clicks? i find that you get quite a few article views/url clicks when your article initially goes up, but then traffic to your article, and thus url clicks goes down..
