I once did, I used to work as a website assessor, judging websites on their relevence to keywords. It was ok but the amount of gay porn i had to see would put anyone to shame. Anyway I worked for them 2 years ago through a company called Lionbridge, have just had a look at their site and they are still advertising for internet assessors (although I can't say for certain it's Google) http://lionbridge.com/lionbridge/en-US/company/web-site/internet-assessors.htm If anyone gives it a try, keep me posted on how you find it
Click the link, it definitely is Google as the email is exactly the same as two years ago, unfortunately it seems it's not open to US residents at the moment
What is the job profile? what is time frame? what is the payrate. Please mention these so that only interested parties may apply
Well I worked a few years ago, things will have changed by now. Basically you get directed to various sites and rate them from a human point of view on their relevence to the keyword/s. Also you need to look out for stuff like hidden text, i-framing ans other blackhat seo stuff. As for the time frame, do you mean how often you can do it? You go through a process of rating sites and you yourself are rated on your ratings. As you get better with the support you can do it full time.
When I first got accepted 26th September 2006 here is the email I got, it describes an exam that needs to be taken (I think there was actually 2 or 3 in total)
Thanks a lot. I will give a try. I am looking for "work from home jobs" for some time. In my country it is very limited. Please Ping me if you/anyone have any other "work from home jobs" Thank you
I think it might be a good idea to look beyond the actual job and look instead at the idea of an internet marketer working on the "inside" It's easy to know what to avoid in marketing if you know what to rate badly as a rater. Thank's for all the thank's and keep me updated on how it goes.
Unfortunately, I can earn more money pumping gas or serving burgers...and it's more interesting...thanks anyway.
Could you elaborate on what they would look at in terms of thin affiliates? Are these strictly deindexed via the rating system, or do they have an automated process to look for thin affiliate sites (i.e. BANS sites)
And I absolutely respect your right to do so, I'm sure you can learn a lot flipping burgers Nothing was automated when I did it, it was purely on how the site looks to consumers, but this is traded off by how it looks to the spiders, if the two differ greatly then there is an issue that needs to be looked at. This is the reason that it's easy to blackhat your way up the rankings but staying there is a lot more difficult once it's subjected to human inspection
So how would you guys get your assignments for what to rate? Was there some sort of threshold of how much traffic certain sites were getting that would send a flag?
When you are accepted you are given access to a control panel whereby you log in when you want and pick up the assignments directly from it. Many assessors do the same and the whole range of ratings is taken into account for each site, you flag things for spam and suchlike. As for the traffic, this wasn't taken into account by the assessors
So they just give you assignments on what to rate, but you have no idea why you're rating them or how they get put into the control panel?
