I setup this site in April to try a new advertiser on Commission Junction. I've never promoted the site except on Squidoo(which never got any traffic), and it pulls in about $5-10/month. It is an affiliate site for Cellware.

This sale also includes my profile page on Cellware which makes most of the revenue.

vs99 - referrals can be seen here http://yuptones.com/images/referringsites.jpg. Obviously, the traffic from dp throws off the stats, but you can see all traffic is google.

MyRedz - Yeah, adsense could be integrated. You could integrate whatever ads you want. It could also be redesigned, but I'm not going to do it. I'm selling the site, not services.

 

Could you please explain how the affiliate program works, how do they pay you when they offer a free service?

 

Finney - This is how it works:

With Commission Junction - they are an ad campaign company similar to google, adbrite, or a number of different ad companies. They manage on behalf of Cellware, their advertising campaign. Cellware pays $1 per free signup, but Commission Junction(www.cj.com) pays out the money. Cellware does this to build a user base, and then makes their money off of advertising on their site.

Cellware makes all of their money via advertising. They give away free downloads such as ringtones, wallpapers, etc. They allow anyone to upload ringtones or wallpapers for others to download for free. From their monthly ad revenue they set aside $5000 to distribute among content creators whose ringtones have downloads. This is a perk for people to want to upload content for others to download. So they take the number of downloads a month for content creators and divide it based upon how many downloads you have received. It's been about 10 - 15 cents per download on average.
