Hi all, i hope this is the right place to posts this?

I was hoping for some advice, i have been contacted by a company called linkstar who have asked to advertise on my site. The site gets about 250 visitors a day and is just a blog about accountancy.

Has anyone heard of these guys before, how much is a fair price to charge?

    Thanks

    Simon

I have not heard of them. The price depends on so many factors, eg, size of the ad, placement, type of ad ... accept a price that you would feel comfortable with.

I decided to go ahead and charge $300 for a years advert.

I was a little worried about how the whole thing would pan out but after negotiating with some guy at linkstar they sent me payment by paypal soon after i put the advert up.

So now i have a nice bit of extra spending money for Xmas :)

Thanks for the reply anyway events.

Linkstar has been sending out quite a few emails like that lately.

If they paid you, great, that was nice and easy :)

Linkstar.co.uk paid you? Wow - we must get about 10 partnership proposals a year, and they usually come to nothing.

    Congrats.

They want to give you money to place an ad in your site, so why do you want to know about them? And why are you giving us how many daily hits they get?

    So what?

Get their money, and place their ad.

I agree. They seemed professional enough and paid up within a day. Much better than a previous broker I had dealt with :)

I too was contacted by linkstar.co.uk and asked about advertising on one of my sites. At first I was like “yeah right” but figured OK what do I have to lose so I played along. After a few emails I was told they typically pay $140 for a annual text link. After I agreed, I was told he would seek approval and get back to me. A few days later I received a message that the amount was approved and I was given instructions on which word on a specific page they wanted hyperlinked to a related url. I setup the hyper link as instructed and sent a message asking them to take a look and see if it was good. I received a message back that all was good and that I should expect payment via Paypal in coming days (I had provided my PayPal email address in an earlier message). At this point I figured OK, if I dont get paid, I just remove the link and I am not out anything, again, nothing to lose. I awoke this morning to find a $140 payment had indeed been sent via Paypal. I am still in awe! No doubt linkstar.co.uk is quite legit! If contacted by them, I would highly recommend dealing with them as they are the “real deal”.

Well I've never heard of Linkstar but if they are doing the job and paying you on time, than I don't see the problem. Have fun.

I have received email from Link Star, to put ads on my blog. I am really worried about the ad content. Are day family safe. I do not want any sexuality or violence in ads to be on my personal blog.

I used them on one site and found them to be honest and reliable. I was able to modify the text in the ad to my liking so that it worked for me. They paid on time. Because I had to modify the text they also gave me an extra $100. Not bad.
