Since the Democrats have complained everyday for the last 8 years, it is now my turn. Feel free to add some to the list. :)

I will complain everyday that I don't receive my free healthcare Obama promised.

I will complain everyday if my taxes are raised (even one cent) after he said he wouldn't raise them for my income level.

I will complain everyday that nothing is passed about eliminating our dependency on foreign oil within 10 years from today.

I will complain everyday that our troops are in Iraq and Obama promised to bring them home.

I will complain everyday that our national budget isn't heading in the proper direction.

I will complain everyday that we are not making ground towards utilizing alternative fuel sources.

I will complain everyday if the scare on social security is not put to rest.

Democrats complained about the Republican leadership non-stop. Obama has a lot of promises he made through his campaign for Presidency.

Yes, because we need more nay sayers and complainers right now...

Bush didn't take over in an economic down turn. Instead it happened on his watch. That, is why we complained. Especially when you geniuses elected him again...

Oh, already backpedaling GeorgeB? Thats pretty sad, this is just day 1. You seemed so confident yesterday about how Obama could do a good job. The only things I mentioned above were the things he promised. :)

It is being a sore loser to hold him to the standards he set for himself through his campaign?

I've listened to your tantrum's for as long as I've been here. And I'm sure they existed long before that and perhaps for the last 8 years if you were old enough to care. I'm not throwing a tantrum, but i'm making it known that I will hold Obama to the standards that he set in his campaign. I personally think he made a lot of false promises and got a lot of America's hopes up for nothing. We'll see. I won't complain if he does what he says he will do on the issues above.

It's fine to complain. But you wont be complaining because you feel let down, You will be complaining because someone got elected who you don't like and so you want to find something to complain about. That's what makes it petty and that's why you are a sore loser. So have your little tantrum, Dry your little eyes and get the fuck over it. Your guy lost.

I mean, Obama isn't even in office yet and look at yourself, You are already ranting like a 5 year old about what you are going to do if your "taxes are raised even one cent". That isn't how a dignified loser behaves.

So are you also backpeddling and not wanting Obama to do what he says he did during his campaign? I'll admit, i'm going to be tough on him, I have a right to be as an American citizen. And you are definitely right that I will be pointing out anything he does wrong as he is President. Is this any different from the stance you've had in the last 8 years? Now that the tables are turned, it seems like you're a little upset that your guy will be held to the same standards you've held Bush for the last 8 years.

It's your motives for doing it though. It wont be for the betterment of america, it wont be because you feel let down, it will be because you will be looking for an excuse to criticise him. THAT is what make it petty, THAT is what makes you undignified in defeat and THAT is what makes you a sore loser. It amounts to nothing more than a crybaby tantrum from a sore loser.

No, I do have hopes he will accomplish the things above, and you can bet on your life that if he turns out to be a great President I will acknowledge it. Through this whole campaign i've not been sure of Obama's ability to act on the things that he's promised. The Republicans, particularly when they had the majority in congress, were expected to get some things done. Why is it not okay in your eyes to hold Obama and other Democrats to the same standards?

Not on economic policies, I do on social and energy issues. McCain wasn't my man on every issue, I viewed him as the lesser of two evils. I just gather the impression from most of those who supported Obama that they have taken a sigh of relief and don't expect him to do the things he says he will do because the economy is so bad. When I watch the news, it is almost like they are giving him a free pass on what he'll do in the next 4 years because of the shape of the economy.

Let me ask you this, what do you expect Obama to change or accomplish in the next 4 years? Is it any different than the expectations I have of him in my initial post (minus the complaining part)?

I expect him to do, or at least try to do, The things he promised. the difference is you seem like you want him to fail just to give you an excuse to complain.

I mean, look at your original post. Nothing about that is positive.

And if you disagreed with the idea of free healthcare why on earth would you "complain every day" if he doesn't do it? Are you really saying that you would complain if he DOESN'T introduce a form of healthcare which you fundamentally disagree with? Your priorities don't seem to be, In anyway, The betterment of your country. it seems to be childish and nothing more than you hoping to get the opportunity to cut off your nose to spite your face.

    Gator:

The first part of these comments are totally off-topic.

I get fascinated by the numbers in the election. I noticed you live in Oklahoma. Within a general election vote where it seems the total voting population went something like 52-53 Obama and 46-47 McCain, Oklahoma was amongst the states most skewed in voting for McCain; roughly 2-1 for McCain. Not a single county w/in the state went for Obama, and in Western Counties the vote totals in several of them were over 80-20 McCain.

Of course certain states on the other side had totally different results. Vermont was roughly 2-1 for Obama, and DC was 93% Obama 7% McCain.

That just speaks to the amazing variety of opinions that reside within the US. Its pretty astonishing IMV.

    2nd part

As to your comments: Toward the end of the campaign, during the debates and after the financial crisis hit, both candidates were hit w/ questions concerning how they would adjust their campaign promises vis a vis the impact that the financial meltdown had on the US economy.

In other words where and how would they cut back on their respective campaign promises.

Neither candidate answered directly. Both candidates maintained a response that attempted to verify that all promises were effective.

I do recall Obama put emphasis on energy independance. That was first on his list.

IMHO, in view of the financial crisis which has hit the US neither candidate would be able to deliver in full on all their campaign promises. Probably, without the financial crisis neither candidate would be able to deliver on all their campaign promises

You of course can hold any perspective you wish. IMV it is totally unrealistic to think either candidate would be capable of delivering on all promises in this current financial mess.

As to how, Obama will proceed, and how the Congress will proceed is up in the air at this point.

I sort of like the perspective of blue dog Dems at this point. They have this "pay as you go" perspective on govt spending and budgeting. They have not been effective in getting their point of view followed.

Anyways if you want to be a "grump" about Obama getting in....I guess to each his own.

On the other side of the coin, McCain made a very eloquent speech at the conclusion of his campaign. Similarly, back in 2000, Gore elequently backed off his pursuit of the Presidency after the Supreme Court ruling.

Both of these guys showed publicly (at least) to be anything but sore losers, and at least at the conclusion of their campaigns called for a unified America.

Hmmm. In 2000 Bush promised a non interventionist foreign policy. Forgetting Afghanistan....I do seem to recall him doing something in Iraq.

In light of the current financial mess, I'm interested to see how Obama moves forward.

I personally don't expect him to deliver on all campaign promises. How the rest of you want to treat this is up to you.
