One of my site was listed within a few hrs of submission few days back. God bless the editor . I had submitted the site and forgot about it thinking it will take atleast a few months or maybe, never appear in DMOZ at all. I was pleasantly surprised the next morning when I checked my Google Analytics account. Among the referrers, one of them was "editors.dmoz.org" . I quickly checked dmoz.org and yes my site was there !!
That's truly miraculous. It takes over 24 hours for a listing suggestion to pass through the spam filters
wow than i got in pretty quick .. It might have taken a bit more than 24 hrs though as I got listed "the next day"
I know an editor of a particular cat. and I submitted a relevant site about a week ago. I am still waiting!
It all depends on the editor and category, if you have one that stays ontop of submissions, they can be really quick, although this is normally quite rare to get it so quick.
That is fantastic !!!! That just made me go and try again its been a long time since I have tried with my Chevy forum and I never have with the Directory. Maybe I will get lucky this time? Congrats on your making it in the directory Mark
Facts being the facts.....it was simply a case that somebody edited in that cat and the site had just been submiited a bit beforehand. Good fortune for the site, but no different to probably 500 sites published that day. Just in the right spot at the right time
Can some one please write a tut on submitting a site to DMOZ for a better approval rate. Perhaps webmasters who have a good success rate with Dmoz submission can be of help in this regard.
What do you do squadron, to become a volunteer? Do you have to have very very good writing skills? I'm not an American, my grammer is not perfect
Wow... the fastest I ever got a site in the "natural" way (without becoming an editor) was like 5 days... a few hours is unheard of.
