    Hey there,

I'm trying to backorder a old domain of mine which is expired at 21 aug 2008 at GoDaddy. Currently the status of the domain is redemptionPeriod since then I think. Does anybody know how long it will take or what I should try to get the domain?

The domain name should become available within 35-36 days after its updated
date, so make your backorder with whoever you can afford. It might be taken
by the bigger players, though, but they might drop it if they don't find it worth
    while.

Mark your calendar November 7 onwards. And good luck!

I believe that GoDaddy will send it through their name auction site (TDNAM.com) prior to giving it to someone who has backordered it
