    The website is here:

    Good demo is here:

The site is based on the Drupal CMS, which is great for managing and editing things. There are a ton of free updates and modules, so you can continue to develop and advance the site in the future. This is important - proprietary code can quickly get "stale" and can be tough to work with. Drupal is one of the most popular content management systems in the world, and you will always be able to find updates and people to help if needed.

If you have some technical skill, then managing Drupal will be very easy. You can visit drupal.org for tons of info (and free code), and you can also visit socialnetworkingwebsites.realtidings.com for an admin demo of a drupal site. You will get the feel of it...

As for your questions - we haven't really made any money at all (aside for a tiny bit of adsense). The reason is that I only originally built it for my wife and I, with the thought of promoting it in the future. We never got around to promoting it, but it still has attracted several showers simply by word of mouth. We currently have had 12 showers and about 35 user sign ups.

I host the site on one of my servers (I am a web developer), and can continue to do so for $12/month. Or, I can simply host it for a week or two while you get it transfered to another host.

There is alot of potential for income:
    - amazon affiliate - users can import amazon products which have your affiliate code (already built in)
    - advertising - other affiliate programs or direct ads would pay more than adsense
    - ebooks - the "bonus" site has an ebook package which sells for $10, and could be promoted on this site
    - drop shipper program - this could be really big....
    - vistaprints reseller - sell invitations, thank you cards and birth announcements
    - charge for upgrade - offer some type of upgraded service (possibly bundled with an above idea)

The big thing lacking now is promotion and marketing... we haven't done ANY. Even so, we have had quite a few signups and even a blog (MamasLike.com) that has linked to us. A Google PR 2 without any work is pretty decent, and a solid foundation. If you have just a few hours a week, this could build up into a pretty major business.

Feel free to log in and create a virtual shower for free. You can play with the features and see what kinds of goodies we have:
    - private vs. public shower
    - user profiles
    - invitation system
    - image gallery with thickbox
    - baby blog
    - registry with Amazon import
    - ChipIn widget box
    - google adsense integration
    - word processor/editor
    - full admin section
    - configurable theme
    - SEO friendly URLs
    - tons of custom code

I also bought an extra site http://mybabynamesite.com/ which I am including in the package. I mostly got it because it has a package of eBooks which could be useful to sell. If you are really industrious, I think I have a DB of baby names and articles floating about I could throw in as well.

It cost me over $10k to build (my time, expenses and outlays), but since we aren't going to be able to promote it now, I will sell it for
    $4,500

Feel free to ask your questions. Serious inquiries can schedule a phone/skype call to go over the site in detail and arrange for payment.

Ok - why are we selling it?

Originally, my wife was going to promote the site and we were going to build it up for some side revenue. Since the baby has been born, we haven't had much extra time. Now, my wife is in talks to join the Macrobiotic culinary school she attended as a partner/owner. So - there is not likely to be any free time from her in the next few years.

I am busy with my web development business, and am also partner in another side project which takes up my free time. So - instead of letting the site die, I thought it best to sell it to someone who can run with it.

Currently, I can only find a single competitor online, and they charge $50 for a virtual shower. I think this site has the potential to do much better... with or without charging.

Several code updates to the site now, and a few interested parties... if you want to schedule a phone/skype meeting to discuss or have questions, let me know!
