I need to sell this since it has so much more potential but I do not have time for it anymore. I never paid for any advertising for the site. I just spent time using free advertising means. However, I hadn't done this either since July 2007 until July of this year. This brought traffic back to quite high levels, high enough to take our server down until we upgraded. Site was down for about 3 days.

Traffic:
Traffic dropped off after we had to move to a new server, but is growing back to the previous amount now that we emailed all members that the site is back up.

Here you can see when I started promoting the site again as well as the resulting traffic in the following months. In the time I was not promoting, values were 4000-12000 pageviews per day:



After the server went down, I decided I didn't have the time to continue actively promoting so I am selling the site. Traffic is now back to 35,000 pageviews per day and as been going up by about 5k every day. But like I said, to maintain this it will take someone who can put in about 2 hours per day to promote the site or has money to pay for advertising.

Revenue:
I took down most advertising on the site a while ago except text link. I used to rotate Adsense units and CPM banners from ValueClick in the sidebars, one in the main page area and one at the footer. Now I just have a footer Adsense unit.

Current/Previous Adsense/ValueClick Stats:
That footer unit makes $2-$3 per day, but the footer one was always the lowest earning. The skyscrapers in the sidebar and the mid-page unit made about $6-$8 per day each (keep in mind these were rotated 50/50 with CPM banners. The most earning came from ValueClick. Our CPM rate their was $0.70-$1.10. When rotated 50/50 with adsense it would make $30-$40 on a 100k+ pageview day (I wish I had this up on those 700k+ days).

Site has many features including a WAP mobile version of the site, instant messenger, standalone desktop lane monitor that allows users to get alerts/updates about activity on their account without being logged in through their browser, and a match algorithm that allows users to find people with similar interests. This feature takes info from optional questionnaires as well as profile data to find and display in order of best match, people with similar interests. A "groups" module is in the the finishing stages and will be included when site in transferred to new owner.

I received a question via PM on how the site gets so many page views with only 1000+ members. I'll post the answer here in case anyone else is wondering the same thing:

Inactive/spam members are deleted after no activity for 60 days. If I had kept all members, there would be more like 25,000 members. While some people like to keep inactive members so that they can boast and brag, the site is faster, and active members are happier when there aren't 20,000+ accounts sitting around that will likely never be accessed again. When people use our match system they want to find potential friends/dates. If a majority of the people they were matched too were no longer active this would be quite frustrating and counterproductive.

Each of our 1000+ members generate around 250 page views each per day. This adds up to around 250,000 page views per day.

Some of the other page views are from are people who heard about the site somewhere or from someone and are just checking it out but do not register.

We also get a lot of visitors who are just checking out a video or blog post. The site has build in social bookmarking utilities which generates good traffic when users submit videos/blogs to sites like digg, reddit, etc. You do not have to be registered to view videos or blogs (while requiring registration may improve our member count, it would decrease overall page views and many of these new members that are generated would not remain active).

that's a neat site... too bad is out of my reach. i think it will help your sell if you post screenshots from google analytics, instead of those from 1and1, cause everyone knows 1and1 statistics are pure fantasy.
