for advertisement u can join many ppc websites when u signup there they give u some codes. just put that code into your webpages where u want to show ads.
when anybody click on that u r get paid.

ebay and amazon are product base, we can't get more from them, even not as google adsense.

The best option to earn money from your website is just start making a website and then after few days join adsense coz adsense pays the highest rates. Right now I am getting $5 for 100 clicks. I am sure no one can pay you that much.
