I have a website where my CTR is currently around 3.5% - 5%. There are definately things I can do to improve that which i've been trying to do over the last few days, but is this CTR pretty good, above or below average? I'm not sure what I should expect myself. Background - the website offers information about team apparel (ie baseball, softball, lacrosse, football uniforms etc). They can request a quote from us, and we'll provide them a quote from one of our distributors, but our main goal is to push the adsense ads.
There is no normal CTR. There are way too many factors which influence it. However, your current CTR is not bad at all
I would say that is quite a good CTR. I would say above average. But I can only compare it to my stats. Which is about 1/2 yours. Congrats!
Your CTR is low, assuming your ads are highly relevant to the interests of your visitors, and your visitors are motiviated to click on such ads given that they seek additional information/service/product than provided on your web page -- and that your visitors are not regular return visitors who have become ad-blind. I don't advise posting actual CTR numbers as this violates Google's Terms and Conditions, Section 7. Google considers this information as belonging to them and, therefore, confidential.
I never get pass 2% since my ads keep showing at least something about world cup or Beckham... It's getting quite stale among my visitors already
Yeah, the actual CTR is probably a little higher than what I posted, but gets dragged down by different channels I test to see their effectiveness. I constantly play around with things so in reality, my CTR is probably closer to 6-8% for the actual pages that use my more concrete ad placements. Thanks for the input guys.
