nofollow Allowed, Impressions Count Towards Weight

A couple new things for the ad network to give it more flexibility...

On the setup screen there is a new option if you want to run rel="nofollow" on all ads on your site (this of course will affect your weight accordingly).

The weight calculation algorithm now takes into account ad impressions your site is giving. Right now it only has 2 days worth of data internally, so the weight numbers will go up over the next week as more daily impression totals for your site are logged. This means if you have a very popular site, but with just a few pages, you still will be rewarded. Sorry it took so long with that but I had to develop some stuff to prevent people from being able to spoof/fake impressions.

No, if you have an account that's inactive (with ads that were approved in the past), you can just use that account.

No... the only change to the PHP file is if you want to run ads with nofollow on them. In that case, the only change is &nf=1 is added to the end of the ads.digitalpoint.com/network.php URL that retrieves ads within the PHP file.

No change needed to take into account the weight bonus/credit for impressions given.

How frecuently will the weight change due to impressions? If I have for example a boost and get loads of impressions for a couple of weeks, and then my rankings change and my visitors go down (and so do my impressions) will my weight then go down?

Advertiser running ads on their site. I'm tossing around the idea to allow people to specify nofollow for their specific ads as well (regardless of what the publisher chooses).

It's on the setup screen. Easiest way is to just regenerate a new PHP file under the setup.

Haven't decided yet... I'm thinking maybe doing it based on average impressions for the previous week when the site if validated/revalidated.

So if people are worried about running "links" on their site, they don't have to trust them.

Not sure how else to explain it. If you want to run the ad network with rel="nofollow" on the ad network links, you can.

Yes, I understand why - but why should I bother to particpoate now? Its not like I get a ton of traffic - the SEO benefit was the main purpose for nearly everyone, and that would be gone with nofollow everywhere.

Just to make it fair, we should be able to choose if our ads will show up on sites with no follow, or with out them.

Yes - and it also needs to be different in alot of ways. Google already knows about the coop. It needs to be disguised a bit.

If you can't think of a reason to use it/participate, then to be honest, it's probably not a good idea for you.

Are we talking about the same thing here? Why would it need to be "disguised"? I don't need to disguise AdSense...

Because there is enough evidence to believe Google may have identified the COOP as a Link Scam. So, err on the side of caution, and make it harder for Google to detect.
