May I know some of the tips to buy a domain name and site safely ?

Some tips that I know of

    - using escrow.com
    - Creating a google analytics code to ensure that the seller has the mentioned traffic.

And thats all I know about. If the seller insist that I must pay the full amt before any nego, like details on how the site is run, what platform, etc etc etc, how should things go about ?

Currently what I could think of is, I'll open an FTP acc into a subdomain folder.

Give the buyer my ftp user n pass.

Have him transfer the files in, such that the site is up and running.
Ill pay 50% via paypal once i see my subdomain up and running.

Next hell transfer the domain to me, probably by godaddy or namecheap
(depending on what it is) and make sure it is working it is pointed to my DNS.

Then ill transfer the rest of the 50%.

Next I will then add a new domain in my cpanel acc

Thanks for reading and helping !

Try and not deal with or help the thread starter (savagemp5). He is a scammer who seems to think it`s entertaining buying sites on SitePoint and then not paying for them despite being the winning bidder. To add insult to injury, he leaves negative feedback to the seller.

This is what happened to an arcade site that he won that we sold.

Just want to make other people aware of the type of person he is.

    Thank you.

adzmedia claims he owns a site.

Then he claims he has traffic

Then he claims he has revenue.

Then when I won the bid. After which he has no details of the site. No details how it is maintained. No nothing.
All he asked is payment. He can't prove traffic. He can't prove revenue. He can't even prove if he owns the site.

Back and forth we exchange private messages, every message he asked is only about payment. Stirctly no information about ths site.

Would you buy something you cant see cant touch, and dont even know if it exist ?

I hope you continue the way you sell your sites. Very good way for the domain market to set examples, realise and differentiate between good sellers and rotten sellers.

Do your parents and family know that you are a compulsive liar or are you just very dense?

A listing was made at SitePoint (http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/46791) that included site verification and was passed by SitePoint. Furthermore the server stats were uploaded to the actual site so to also prove verification and the quoted stats (http://www.mydigitalgames.com/webalizer.jpg).

In addition to the above, I told you to email me at the domain address and I would reply to you being that you still doubted we owned the site. You didn`t.

All questions that you raised were addressed and that included questions on site maintenance and we also stated that we would happily assist you with moving the site after payment is received. What we refused to do is add Analytics after the you had won the auction and we certainly was not going to transfer the site until payment had been received.

You made a commitment to purchase the site and you have broken that commitment.

We stated that you could do anything you wished to the site after payment had been made but certainly not whilst the site belonged to us.

I will happily paste in all PM dialogue if necessary.

So once again, you are a liar and a timewaster who has cost us money through SitePoint credits that were purchased.

DP and SP members, please do not sell anything to this idiot because he just may pull the same stunt again.
