Strange URLs in the Referrer Stats...
Please admin - move this if its the wrong place, Log Analysis seemed to be the best subject for me to pop it. Its not strictly a log problem, as its through external logging that I'm seeing this issue.
I use extreme tracking stats for a number of my non-hosted by myself sites, especially http://diobach.blogspot.com, my blog. I've seen a recent upsurge in http://extremetracking.com/open;ref1?login=dioblog strange referrals from what look like almost daily URLs, like so: http://www.test-marth-02.com http://www.marth-02-02.com http://www.2-marth-3.com http://www.2-marth-3.com http://www.martch-02-04.com http://www.m-02-05.com http://www.m-02-06.com http://www.test-11.com Etc. None of them are actual URLs. I suspect some kind of Robot activity - theres been a lot of that recently for pages that don't link to me directly, trying to get linkbacks on my Referrers In The Last 24 Hours bit at the very bottom. However, these sites aren't showing up there - any idea's what its all about? |

Yes, I would say that this is definitely some type of robot testing.
If you look around the open source community, there are actually quite a few personal spiders that you can use. I would relate these hits to bots that are probably gathering links and content. KG |
