Need some ideas....

Hello, this is my first post here at Digital Point, I have been looking around on this forum for about 2 hours now, no lie, and I honestly believe that this is the best place that I have found to gain knowledge on how to 'better' my site and traffic. My question is...

What are some ideas to get my site in places/engines that will actually make a difference?

I have followed a few users posts and submitted my link to like 30 URL submitters, and I hope that will help. I am just honestly unsure of some things such as a lot of members have posted ideas about "linkback", I am really unsure of what this means.. What do I do to find/get these linkbacks?

Please give me any ideas or thoughts on this guys/gals.. I could really use your help!

Again, I am sorta understanding what you are saying . Sorry for my ignorance to the subject, but are you talking about like 'articles'? Is this referring to Linkbacks?

No I think he is just indicating that your site needs to have content.

As far as submission. Manual submission to SE's is always key. That and a concentrated effort to place your site in appropriately categorized directories will certainly help.

I think he's referring to reciprocal links, ie., you link to him, and he links back to you.

Reciprocals are frowned on because they are not necessarily relevant links and can be spotted as such depending on the volume and speed at which they are acquired. You're likely to get more out of a few good, relevant links than you ever will out of hundreds of reciprocals.

linkbacks or backlinks, are links on other sites, pointing to your site.
You usually get them by exchanging, buying or submitting them

There are a lot of directories which don't require link back.
