I am wondering if it means your site doesnt get indexed for that time being or if your site gets index but just set in the real serps it would normally receive & no pr is associated with the site? heh just trying to clarify this in my head.. let me know.. thanks, juls
My new site, i think is sandboxed. allin's are all in top 5, onpage optimised very well, has a good amout of BL's ( working on it). Most of my KW are around 500-600 position, beaten by sites who should loose by a wide margin ideally.
In my opinion it means that new websites do not compete with established websites on a level playing field and that there "may" be certain filters added to new sites like excessive backlinking filters that keep you down the SERPS. Furthermore any links to you "may" be of less value to you in the SERPS than older established websites, as always its only theory and speculation. You can easily get listed, but to compete for your keywords you may find yourself down the list. Ignore PR.
Yes you are in the sandbox. Welcome to the club. We have a wonderful room you might want to look at over here on the right...
And in answer to the thread Yes you get PR Yes you get indexed Yes you show backlinks NO you don't rank for any keyword more competitive than "Uncle Shawn's Pet Goat Named Tom"
The 3 content sites I built after April 2004 got sandboxed in the Dec update, and are still there. But I don't think it is really a sandbox in my case. When google reindexed the world in Nov., my sites lost alot of ground. I expect to see them resurface hopefully in the next update. I have 2 sites that are new. It will take awhile before I see them do anything. Yahoo will probably find them first.
lol "Sandbox = No chance of earning revenue" true true heh well i am creating some sites to start building up my trial version of a linking network... wish me luck.. not exactly sure i am doing it right but oh well.
Sites which are hit by the sandbox get indexed in Google, but dont rank at all for any competitive search terms until they break out.
Google has this silly filter that people call the sandbox. It causes your site to not be able to rank well for competitive terms despite all the work you do. So just keep building up back links and adding fresh content. Then one day the sandbox will be gone and you will want to go party.
I have a site I put online in January. About Feb 5, I went from 3-4 uniques per day to 100+. I'm now at 300+ uniques per day. I'm getting a lot of traffic from google and making sales. I just can't help but wonder how long it will last. Every day I keep waiting for it to disappear. It's ranking 1-10 for many products. Sure is nice while it lasts!
what? no way... that is great..... what is your conversion rate like and what is your average sale size like? congrats...
It's an amazon store. Current conversion for all three of my sites in sig is: 7.62% The tool store is the one I'm referring to. Not sure of the average size of sale. I've made a 599.00 sale, all the way down to a 6.99 sale (some sand paper). The tools store is doing the best, followed by the electronics. The software site has made some sales, but most of them smaller items. I may put the software site up for sale.
nice sites. they are all using the same template and script. what script are you using for it? custom or purchased or licensed? congrats on the success.
www.ghostscripter.com Their site may still be down, they were email bombed or something. It's a great script and very nice people.
