newbie vBulletin question

    Hello all.

    I just purchased a site with vBulletin on it. This is my first exposure with VB :)

    I am in a learning mode.

    My question is: What page in VB do I add the co-op code to for it to display on all my pages?

    I tried adding it to the footer, but VB keeps telling me I cannot change the copyright info (which I am not).

    Thanks for helping in advance,

    AJ

    If you purchased Vbulletin, then you should be able to remove any footer information (unless they have changed their TOS). When you login to your co-op admin here at DP, you should see instructions on where to place the information.

    vbulletin control panel > styles and templates > style manager > all style options > phpinclude_start > add... require("../include/fileswithcoopads.inc");

    Eample of phpinclude_start contents:
     // Example of how to include a seperate file:
    ob_start();
    require("../include/fileswithcoopads.inc");
    $footer = ob_get_contents();
    ob_end_clean();
    $headerstime = time();

    Code (markup):

    Thanks, but I must be missing something here because it's not working.

    I do not have a fileswithcoopads.inc file

    Just ad_network.php and ad_network_ads.txt

    Just follow the instructions in the setup and put the code below the vb copyright

    That would be the footer, right?

    Keeps telling me I can't change that info.

    In your common templates (admin panel )

    scroll down to Footer

    And insert your $ad_network[0]

    Can you get into your admin panel

    "fileswithcoopads.inc" was just an example file name.

    I run the coop ads on more than a few sites so I keep the code in an "include" file. Whenever the code is updated all I have to do is update this file and upload it to my other sites.

    Thanks.

    But every tie I try to add any code, I get this:

    "Sorry, you can not remove the vBulletin copyright text using this page.

    You must use the main template editor to do this, if your licence allows you to remove the vBulletin copyright text."

    What's that about?

    Are you trying to remove the "copyright" code?

    No, I am only trying to add the code and have left all the other code alone.

    You can add the code in the "footer" template and shouldn't get that message.

    I am trying to do that but I keep getting that "error" message.

    It will not let me edit the "footer".

    Just for clarification. This is the path your following?

    OK, I was trying to edit the templates in the wrong spot.

    But now even when I follow above referenced path and am allowed to enter the co-op code, nothing shows on the pages.

    The code is:

    <DIV align=center>
    <?php
    ini_set ("include_path", ini_get ("include_path") . ':../:../../:../../../:../../../../');
    include ('ad_network.php');
    echo $ad_network[0] . ' | ' . $ad_network[1] . ' | ' . $ad_network[2] . ' | ' . $ad_network[3] . ' | ' . $ad_network[4];
    ?>
    </DIV>

    Try just this:

     <?php
    ini_set ("include_path", ini_get ("include_path") . ':../:../../:../../../:../../../../');
    include ('ad_network.php');
    echo implode (', ', $ad_network); ?>

    Using that code, the only thing that displays is the actual "raw" code.

    Did you "cut and paste" the code I posted or did you modify your previous code?
