    N. Korea warns of nuclear war if attacked

SEOUL, South Korea -- North Korea is ready to answer a pre-emptive U.S. military attack with an "annihilating strike and a nuclear war," the state-run media said Monday. The Korean Central News Agency, citing an unidentified Rodong Sinmun newspaper "analyst," accused the United States of increasing military pressure on the isolated communist state.

The North Korean threat of retaliation, which is often voiced by its state-controlled media, comes amid U.S. official reports that Pyongyang has shown signs of preparing for a test of a long-range missile.

I think they're way in over their head; they haven't even tested (long range) missiles and they're already threatening S. Korea and the United States and probably all of its allies to a nuclear war.

Does Kim Jong WANT to start the end of the world??

Good question... it simply can't. These guys are itchin' for war, much like Hitler was back in WW2 days.

We'll have to stop them when they try something "clever".

They told us they wouldn't sit by and let us slaughter them if we attack.... not really unreasonable is it?

Can you think of a nuclear power that wouldn't retaliate against an attack?

the point is; that no one really threatened an attack. These wacky little communist nations say this crap - just to threaten everyone. And to give liberals some justification that what they say is reasonable :p

Um, they didn't say "If you nuke us, we'll nuke you back." ... they said "If you ATTACK us [in any form, apparently], we'll nuke you" - in other words, they're itchin to use nukes.

    Lorien: very true!

Kim Jong Il is a tin-horn dictator and a complete wack-job. No one has threatened to attack him and George Bush has been doing the right thing by ignoring him.

What he wants is to force us to the table to once again offer him billions of dollars in aid. Bill Clinton made a deal with him in good faith and we all found out how good the word of communist nut-case really is.

Sorry, Yo-Yo. You won't get any traction on this one. Kim Jong Il's intentions are obvious to most reasonable people.

In other words, let them make a nuclear missile that can reach us, so they are a bigger threat in a few years.

I thought you hate the slaughtering of people. Oh, wait, only if done by Americans. Nuclear war is a method of slaughtering people when used un-tactfully. N. Korea's dictator is no tactful man, let me tell you that. He'll use nukes with JOY.

Well if they become a world threat, somebody has to do something.

Blah blah blah... George Bush would have you believe anyone with an AK-47 is a threat to us.

At the pace technology and science are moving every country in the world will some day be capable of doing harm. What are we going to do then?

This policy of constantly threatening and policing everyone we don't like is eventually going to backfire in our faces.

Use those advances in technology to protect ourselves more.

Probably. But we'll deal with that then. We can either be attacked or defend ourselves BEFORE we're attacked.

I'm surprised you didn't respond to this...

Sort of like when North Korea was trying to take over South Korea?

Yo-yo....it would be nice for me to hear you speak down North Korea as country. Sometimes it's not ALL about us. There's a good reason we're the way we are......

Here's a movie quote that I find would fit this situation:

    Team America World Police

Drunk: "Well, being a dick ain't so bad. See, there's three kinds of people: Dicks, pussies, and assholes. Pussies think everyone can get along and dicks just wanna fuck all the time without thinking it through. But then you got your assholes, Chuck. And all the assholes want is to shit all over everything. So pussies may get mad at dick once in a while because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes, Chuck. And if they didn't fuck the assholes, you know what you'd get? You'd get your dick and your pussy all covered in shit."

    **Whose who in this situation?

Nuclear tactics for North Korea would be futile. All they could hope to do would be inflict some collateral damage. There would be no possible way for them to protect themselves from the retaliation. There are enough nuclear powers out there as there is. To allow nuclear weapons to proliferate would be a mistake. Kim Jong il is suicidal and is endangering the lives of his people..

All this guy wants is for the world to shower him with billions of dollars in aid money. He is a piss-ant and not worthy of any offensive action. His economy is a disaster and the country cannot survive much longer unless he finds suckers to feed him money.

As of the latest news report, he has fired 6 test missiles today. None were nuclear, but several have nuclear capabilities and at least one has long-range nuclear capabilities. For several weeks we have been telling everyone that he is preparing a long-range missile test, while all along he has been denying it.

Guess what, Yo-Yo, even in your warped, extreme-liberal, anti-Bush viewpoint, you can't blame Bush for this one. All that Bush has done is to try to ignore this nut-case and treat him like the baboon he really is. I don't think that even our most liberal politicians will be snookered by this guy again. His people are suffering while only hearing his viewpoint that everyone else is to blame.
