Best web page building tools?

Just wondering what you think are the best tools for building a web site. I have front page anything out their better dreamweaver ect. What do you use?

I use Dreamweaver-MX and editPlus.

 

Dreamweaver and photoshop hand in hand TextPad too

For new sites: notepad and PS CS

For old sites or someone else's sites: DW and PS

 

In a linux environment:
- vi(m) - or your preferred editor
- firefox - with webdeveloper extension
- IE - running on WINE
- Photoshop - for GFX design, again running on WINE (sorry, the GIMP sucks)
- browsercam.com - for comprehensive browser testing

In a windows environment:
- notepad - or your preferred editor
- firefox - with webdeveloper extension
- IE - you have to, 90% of people use it!
- Photoshop - for GFX design

TextPad / Frontpage / Dreamweaver / UltraEdit.

 

dreamweaver mx 2004 and fireworks mx 2004 are all i ever use - and i've done websites for companies...

love photoshop... still use it for making tarpaulin posters bec. it's the only graphics app out there that can handle really large images - and the printing shops love psd. but for websites, it's not nearly as fast as fireworks

 

Frontpage... to lazy too learn anything else.

 

Ouch! I used front page in the late 90's. It's a fine tool I suppose.

DW is soooo much better. You should give it a shot.

 

dreamweaver MX and Photoshop.

If you are a student, and can prove it, you can get the software dirt cheap (in comparison to retail) from any of many sites offering acadenic discounts.

I paid roughly $100 for Illustrator 2 yrs ago.

 

I use dreamweaver and photoshop. I think they work well.

 

I use allaire homesite 4. Even though macromedia has released homesite 5, I still prefer version 4 because it has a built in html validator which version 5 doesnt have.

 

I was wondering when I would find one of these threads here. In short, a text editor is the answer.

I love working with Dreamweaver, I used notepad, ace html, hot dog, etc. before....but when you invest your time in Dreamweaver (and Fireworks), to learn to work with the software - you'll be very pleased with the results. DW is a top WYSIWYG HTML editor!

 

I used to use Dreamweaver (can't stand Front Page), but now I mostly use VI or UltraEdit, and Photoshop of course.
